Halifax online login: How to login to your Halifax online banking?

HALIFAX customers are increasingly doing their banking online, but the headache of setting it all up can be off-putting. Here is how to login to your Halifax online banking.

Lloyds Bank, TSB AND Halifax all down over the UK

Halifax has helpfully prepared a how-to guide, which comes complete with a quick tour and overview of the site and app.

To sign in to Online Banking, simply enter your username and password, then click continue.

Enter the requested characters from your memorable information, then click continue to sign in.

It is important to never give your password to anyone.

Hi can you tell me if internet banking is down? Can’t get online via app or web.

@ChrisBradsGregg

You can sign out of Online Banking at any time, using the button at the top of the page.

All of your accounts are shown on the Halifax homepage, with your balance, available funds and lots of other useful features, such as important notifications.

Customers can also easily transfer money between accounts or pay people or companies you have paid before from the Homepage.

Security is a primary concern for savers, which is why a link for those who have forgotten their password is prominent on the page.

You’ll be prompted to provide your username, name and date of birth.

And you can either reset your password, or reset both your password and memorable information.

The benefits of online banking with Halifax are four-fold; customers are protected by their online guarantee, it is easy to use and oversee what's going in and coming out of your account at any time.

And the ability to bank anytime and anywhere saves precious time.

The Halifax online banking app is available for Android, iPhone and iPad.

However, Halifax’s reputation took a hit in 2017, when customers were left unable to login to their online banking portal or mobile app.

Hundreds of users flooded Twitter to complain about the problems.

@ChrisBradsGregg rote: “Hi can you tell me if internet banking is down? Can’t get online via app or web.”

And @paul_damien asked: “Hi, both your website(s) and app(s) are currently down - do you have an ETA on uptime?”

Internet use in Britain has risen to record levels but there remains a worrying lack of awareness around security, figures show.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) found 89% of adults used the internet at least weekly this year, a rise of one percentage point on last year and up from 51% in 2006.

There has been a sharper increase in the number of people aged 65 and over shopping online, with almost half now making purchases on the internet, up from 16% a decade ago.

The benefits of online banking are clear:

You are protected by their online guarantee, meaning you avoid the risks of carrying cash or sending cheques.

It is simple to register and support is always available.

You can keep track of what's going in and coming out of your account at any time.

And it helps you save time, as you get to queues at busy times.
