It’s every car collector’s dream – following a lead that takes you to a property where a rare vehicle has sat for decades, going unnoticed and waiting for someone to see it’s value and restore it. This might be one of the most amazing barn finds to date, with a collection of 60 vehicles including a Bugatti 57 Ventoux…

Obviously the cars are not in the condition above, but maybe the right collector to restore them to their original glory. So where did this amazing collection come from? A French entrepreneur pieced this collection together in the 1950s with the hopes of conserving the heritage of the brands and body makers in a museum environment. However, during the 1970s his dream fell apart when business slowed and he was forced to sell off 50 cars and essentially store the rest wherever possible. Many of these cars were stashed away in the same fashion as most forgotten vehicles – under tin roofs, covered in old comforters with magazines stacked on top. Head over to Classic Driver and read about another amazing find in this barn – Alain Delon’s lost Ferrari 250 California. This vehicle originally was owned by comedian Gérard Blain, but he sold it to actor Alain Delon who was seen in the car with Jane Fonda and Shirley MacLaine.

All of these cars are going to be auctioned off by Artcurial Motorcars in their traditional auction at the Retromobile Salon in Paris on February 6, 2015. To read the entire account of how these cars were found and to see all the photos please visit classicdriver.com. And if you are ready to start your own barn collection check out our latest pre-owned vehicle inventory.
