This 1971 Ford F-100 is the Perfect Weekend Cruiser

Everybody loves checking out those rolling works of art known as show queens.  Owners obsess over every detail, polishing every inch of their rides.  What follows are scores of admirers, trophies, and a trip home via an enclosed trailer where they take up residence in a comfy, climate controlled garage.

Sure, they’re great to look at, but most of these sweet looking rides rarely (if ever) get driven beyond the the loading and unloading phase.  Owners don’t want their precious, expensive toys getting dirty or risk the possibility of a *gasp* stone chip.

For those of us who don’t have the means (or the desire) to own and maintain a show queen, something less than perfect is perfectly acceptable.  If it looks great and runs great, who cares if the undercarriage is clean enough to eat off of?  A little dirt and oil never hurt anybody.

If you didn’t just cringe at the previous sentence, this 1971 F-100 is your kind of ride.  A real head turner in its light green livery and classic five star aluminum wheels, it’s the perfect weekend cruiser.  Mostly original with a mere 69,000 original miles, you won’t care about the less than perfect detailing underneath the surface.

The front disc brake conversion is a welcome change, but the stock 302 and 3-speed transmission (on the tree!) remain. The inside remains factory original save for an upgraded headliner with an aftermarket radio and speakers.  The owner wisely chose to leave the factory radio intact and didn’t cut up the dash or doors.

Priced at a reasonable $14,995, this F-100 is sure to make onlookers green with envy at your next cruise in.  After all, it’s lack of perfection is what makes it perfect.
