Gorgeous Green 1978 Ford F-150 Is as Clean as They Come
This amazing 1978 Ford F-150 has remained in stunning shape over the years, and it’s simply hard to resist.
There’s nothing we love more than clean, 1970s-vintage Ford trucks. That’s why we spend an inordinate amount of time scouring the web looking at them, then subsequently checking out bank account balances to see how many we can bring home. Unfortunately, these trucks are like puppies – you can’t rescue them all. But oh how we’d love to have this gorgeous Jade Green 1978 Ford F-150, up for sale at Garage Kept Motors, in our garage.
The color combination, together with the Flareside bed, isn’t something you see a lot of these days. And it also makes this pickup rather stunning to look at. The truck was repainted around 15 years ago, but it looks like it could have been just yesterday. It’s in simply stunning condition, and we’re certainly digging those period Mickey Thompson wheels, too.
The seller has a lot of documentation on this 1978 Ford F-150. And as it turns out, the truck was sold new to a gentleman in Flat Rock, Michigan, and now it’s up for sale in Grand Rapids, so it presumably hasn’t strayed too far from home over the last few decades.
The interior is as nice as the exterior, with black cabin bits broken up visually by black and white plaid inserts for the white seat. Otherwise, like most trucks from this era, the interior is extremely simple. There’s no radio, rubber floor mats, and that’s about it. The three-spoke steering wheel is rather nice to look at, however, and everything is clean and tidy as it should be.
The same goes for the engine bay, where you’ll find an equally clean-looking compartment housing a 351 V8 painted up in Ford Blue. The reliable mill is mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission for easy cruising, and there are 107,950 miles showing on the odometer. Even with the repaint, it’s clear that whoever has taken care of this pickup over the years has done a fantastic job.
There aren’t many people on this planet who wouldn’t love to own such a nice piece of Ford truck history, ourselves included. And it’s also proof that the right color combo and body style can make all the difference on a vintage hauler.
