1976 explorer green

Can anyone with one of these factory 76 green explorers tell me the paint code on their vin tag? I would really like to know for sure what the exact color is before I buy paint for my highboy. Thank you and it is much appreciated!

There apparently was a dark Jade Green and (light) Jade Green in 1977. It's all but impossible in my experience to identify it at the paint/body shop. I do have the mixing instructions for the light.

76 250 jade explorer color

Jmschneider that is the exact pain job I am thinking about doing to mine. My dad had a 76 f150 4x4 explorer like that and I want to paint my 250 as a tribute to that truck seeing that it was his favorite truck and all the classic 70's wheeling adventures he had in college are priceless. I know it will be quite a bit of work to paint the stripes but with some research I think I could do it. First I have to find out what the actual color code is. Do you by chance know what it says on your door tag?

And other dude (that I can see your name while I'm typing this) that 77 you got there is a beautiful truck!

I am extremely new to this site just a heads up!

See the attached pics. Color code E matchs up with "Jade Metallic". You can get a good sense of the color on the paint near the tags!

Thanks for the pics! That exactly what I was looking for to make sure I get the right color! I may need your help to get some up close pics of the stripes to see how they measure and how far they are from body crease and how the hood looks! I very much appreciate all the help I'm getting! I'll have to post a few pics of my dads back in the day. I think you'll like it, it had 3" lift 35" gumbo monster mudders fender flares and 4 kc lights on the roof. I got a picture of it all waxed up and clean and a picture of it all caked in mud!

I know someone on here has one, I've seen a picture of it- it has a white roof on it, pretty sweet truck! Hope you see this thread and chime in.

Any idea how many jade green Explorers there were? Mine happens to be a Supercab, anyone on here have a green Explorer Supercab? (any idea how many there were of those? Never have seen even a picture of another one. Do I have somewhat of a rare truck?

ugh, i wish i had a digital camera, i'd post a picture of mine!

I know that this is a very old thread but I haven't been active for many years on this site and just came across this now. I'm posting it in hopes that it is seen by the person requesting to see photos of 76 Explorers in jade green! I'm hoping that kadrocker is still active on here and will see this!

I have a bit of surface rust under the seats and wanted to try and match the cab color a little after cleaning off the rust. Anyone know of a touch up paint that is close enough that if a non professional looked at it they couldn't tell. At least with the seats installed and no carpet.
