ALFA ROMEO 1300GT JUNIOR, 1972

This original RHD Alfa Romeo 1300GT Junior was supplied new via DJ Demades & Sons Ltd., the official Alfa Romeo agent in Nicosia, Cyprus. Demades carried out the pdi check, as noted in the original Service Booklet, and it was first registered on 22nd March 1972 and spent the following 42 years in the hands of one fastidious owner in the dry, salt-free Mediterranean climate. This goes some considerable way to explaining why this example is in an almost time-warp, significantly original, condition.

During this extended period, the car was returned to the supplying dealer for servicing in 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1986, 1987, 1990 and 1991. All of these services are documented in the Service Coupon Book.

In 2014, the Alfa was imported into the UK and accordingly registered with the DVLA; in 2017 it was bought by an Alfa aficionado in the Channel Islands where it joined his Alfa Romeo collection, during which time it has enjoiyed limited, but regular, use. It has also enjoyed a significant level of maintenance, with recent works including clutch master and slave cylinders, suspension work, a complete brake overhaul, regular service work and much more. Even more recently, the Alfa has just been fitted with a new set of (4) tyres and the original fuel pump replaced with a new Facet electric pump.

There is no evidence of any historical welding to the bodyshell, which still boasts Factory panel fit and doors which open and shut in that lovely way Bertone 105 series coupes should. The outer bodywork has been repainted at some stage, but that is all - engine bay, inside the bonnet and boot and door shuts all display unblemished Factory paintwork in the original and rare colour of Giallo Ocra.

The interior is, with the exception of a new carpet set, completely original and simply exceptional. From the perfect headlining, to the unmarked dashboard, to the unwarped door trim panels, to the seats which look as though they have never been sat upon, the cabin even still has that aroma of an original Alfa of this period.

Supplied now with the original driver’s handbook, original service booklet, a history file of invoices, and original and unused tool kit and jack.
