In 1950, only 700 of these top of the line Chrysler woodie cars were made.
Movie stars and many famous, wealthy people drove them, as they are truly beautiful.
This was the last year of Chrysler woodie cars, featuring 8 cylinder motors, Fluid Drive with Prestomatic (semi-automatic/ manual transmission) and stylish interiors with extensive exterior bright chrome.
This car features first use of 4-wheel disc brakes and the attractive 2-door Newport Hardtop design.
(It was said that they were too expensive for Chrysler to continue to make, requiring lots of professional hand labor, wood skills.)
This car is a COMPLETE, ORIGINAL, 33,000 mile, two tone, rare metallic Navajo Brown (copper color) and Tampa Beige diamond in the rough, giving the impression of a convertible from a distance. The original, white ash hard wood is in solid, nice condition, needing only some sanding & varnishing. The original brakes are the first use of 4-wheel disc brakes by any USA manufacturer. The interior remains in nice condition. Overall, this is a luxurious, solid, heavy, & sporty looking woodie car to drive,,,, This beautiful car demands attention and thumbs up, from onlookers everywhere. Look at the photos below.
It has been in storage for years and needs normal reconditioning to make roadworthy.
While the chrome has pitting, I have most chrome in NOS condition available, at extra cost.
