Turbocharged 1976 Ford Pinto for sale on Hemmings.com. From the seller's description:

While it looks like a typical Malaise Era subcompact on the outside, this wee Ford has a secret under the hood. Yes, that's right, under the hood is a modified turbocharged 2.3L inline four-cylinder engine transplanted from a 1988 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. Backing up that boosted motor is the turbo coupe's five-speed manual transmission and an eight-inch rear differential. This Pinto is very fast and just too much fun, something that Ford should have done from the factory!

Amuse your friends with the power this small, light car generates and surprise fellow drivers who think you'll be the last one away from a stop. Ford enthusiasts will find this Pinto the ultimate sleeper car that still even sports it's unassuming 13″ stock wheels!

Made in February 1976, at Ford's San Jose, California assembly plant, this car was shipped to the Los Angeles area. This car's mostly original Medium Chestnut Metallic paint is in good condition with some minor blemishes while the trim is in fair shape. The glass sections are in good shape and crack-free, as are the lights, which are intact and clear. All of the body panels are in good shape, including the Mach One hood scoop, and the cargo area in very good order. The engine bay is reasonably tidy and the battery is in very good shape. The bumpers are decent condition. Car rolls on 155/80R13 radial tires with 13-inch wheels with factory wheel covers.

Inside, the tan recovered seats are in good shape while the matching carpet is in fair condition. The headliner needs some attention, however. The instrument panel is in very good condition with Auto Meter and Stewart Warner gauges to monitor the actions of the turbocharged engine, while the three-spoke aftermarket steering wheel, door panels, mirrors, center console and shift lever are all in good shape. Rounding out the interior is a factory AM/FM stereo.

Documentation includes original owner's manual. Current mileage on the odometer shows 109,414 miles.

What if I told you that not all muscle cars are from Detroit? No, I’m not talking about any of the rebellious machines from Kenosha. I’m talking about Newport Pagnell. Where exactly is Newport Pagnell you ask? It’s about 50 miles northwest of London, and the traditional home of Aston Martin, where thousands of its cars were built between the mid-1950s through 2007. Let’s take a look at this 1978 Aston Martin V8 Series 3 currently offered on Hemmings Auctions as a prime example of a non-Detroit muscle car.

How does the AMV8 stack up as a muscle car? Let’s count the ways: It’s got a booming, high-performance V8 under the hood that sends power to the rear wheels—and the rear wheels only. It’s a two-door coupe with a long hood and a fastback roof. It has a big hood scoop needed to clear a quartet of Weber two-barrel carburetors. It even has a Chrysler TorqueFlite automatic transmission for that authentic Yankee feel.

Rain may have dampened Sunday's festivities at the Hudson River Valley Antique Auto Association's 2024 Rhinebeck Car Show, but attendance and spirits were high last Saturday when we visited this eagerly anticipated season-opening event in the heart of New York's Hudson Valley. Held at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds, this event includes a car corral that was stocked with all manner of interesting cars, trucks, and other vehicles -old and new, some turnkey, others restoration projects- being sold.

We were drawn to a pair of Bright White first-generation, rear-wheel-drive Dakota pickups, offered by different sellers, that represented the sportiest and most collectible variants Dodge sold in that mid-size truck's 1987-1996 model years.
