Hemmings Find of the Day - 1971 Plymouth Fury III

Restored 1971 Plymouth Fury III for sale on Hemmings.com. From the seller's description:

Barn find from Wisconsin with restoration started in 2010. Original 360 automatic engine with less than 77,000 miles. Coupe with color matched B7 Blue exterior repainted 5 years ago. Drum brakes. New sparks plugs, distributer, muffler, rear pipes, radiator recored from 2 to 3. New vinyl top, no rust at all when replaced, roof was painted and clear coated before new vinyl so option to remove vinyl is open. OEM parts only used for trim, bezels, antenna, tail light lenses, etc. Tinted windows. Interior is near perfect with OEM apholstery material for seats and headliner and carpet. However, the dash needs a new cover, a remold or replacement. Has factory air and all the parts needed to finish putting it together. All restoration receipts and documents inluding the build sheet included.

Nearly complete restoration. Some paint scratches and one tear in vynyl top from an unfortunate flip of a tent from a negligent landlord. Could use new shocks for suspension as well. Runs great. It has 2 barrel carburator and would be even better with a 4 barrel. I have extra parts and primered 1970 Power Bulge hood that fits. I bought and drove this car 1100 miles from Wisconsin to Connecticut in 2010 and have been restoring it since. Good project car for Mopar enthusiast. It won't take much more to make this original gem great or make a swap too a track muscle car.

Hemmings Find of the Day - 1966 Plymouth Fury III

Perched near the top of Plymouth's 1966 model range, just below the VIP, the Fury III was a car that owners could proudly show off to the neighbors. It stands to reason that many were preserved, though few were likely as pampered as this time-capsule 1966 Plymouth Fury III two-door hard top, for sale on Hemmings.com. From the rust-free body to the hermetically sealed seats to the working A/C and clean-enough-to-eat-from 318 V-8, it's clear that the Fury was a treasured possession, one that reportedly needs nothing except a new owner. The most detail-obsessed would want to fix the described scratches (and perhaps pull the aftermarket under-dash eight-track player), but even in its current state the Plymouth rates as a far better-than-average driver. From the seller's description:

1966 Plymouth Fury 3 Two Door Hard Top, This car belonged to the same owner for many years. It is an absolutely gorgeous car that has been garaged and well maintained and it shows. The body is straight and solid, the chrome and stainless steel trim are brilliant, the interior is like new and the seats have been covered in clear plastic! Powered by the 318 cubic inch V/6 engine the car runs and drives very well. Under the hood in the engine bay is immaculate, the trunk looks like it has never been used and the underneath of the car is clean and solid. The car has Air Conditioning that blows ice cold! At some point many years ago, the car was resprayed and it still shines brilliantly, although there are a few scratches on the paint. This is a turn key car that is ready to show, drive and enjoy! This car is being sold, because the long term loving eighty four year old owner has passed away. There was recent maintenance performed, such as a battery, oil change and brake repair.
