USN 708809:  The U.S. Navy’s first R7V-1 Lockheed “Super Constellation”, 1953.   Modified, the Super Constellation served with the Blue Angels as a support craft with the designation of C-121.  The 106 passenger plane could be quickly converted to an 18 ton cargo freighter, or a 73 patient ambulance.  It had hard facing seats.   Called “The Fastest of the Fleet,” the R7V-1 was used for faster personnel movement, cargo shipment, and hospital plane operations, March 12, 1953.
