After a quarter-century, many car enthusiasts still feel the Honda Integra Type R is the benchmark for all FWD sports cars. It's hard to disagree once you get behind the wheel of this 1995. Fresh off a recent service, this lightly modified coupe is turn-key and ready to rock and boasts some pricey performance upgrades, too. Finished in a pretty Granada Black Metallic (NH-503P), the aesthetic is set off by a set of high-dollar 15" Volk TE37s. The body and paint are in good shape aside from some light dings, chips, and scuffs associated with normal use. Offered with a mere 85k verified and documented miles, this Integra would make for a killer daily driver, fun weekend track toy, or collector piece. No matter how this next chapter unfolds, this Type R is a certified Japanese Classic that surely won't last long!

The cabin has been cared for in a prior life and it shows. The dash is in good nick and lacks any cracking or distortion. The weighted shifter and new MoMo steering wheel feel great in the palms of your hands and look sporty, too. The automatic climate control is simple to use and works as advertised. Other upgrades include a Carrozzeria head unit, but it's on its last legs and could use a USDM replacement. The headliner and carpets look cared for, as does the factory upholstery of the rear bench. Even the original carpet mats are awaiting the next owner! The front seats are red reclinable Recaros. They add some nice contrast to the darker interior and are supportive on long trips. Aside from light bolster wear they lack any major rips, stains, or tears. The door cards have some light wear too, but at 25 years of age it's really just nitpicking. The ergonomics are top tier and there is hardly a squeak or rattle when driving down the road!

The nimble chassis was stiffened and lightened by Honda compared to downmarket trim levels. Bolstered by a revvy B18C, this engine made 197hp in its original form, which is more than is needed for this lightweight coupe. Fresh off a recent oil and filter service, the powerplant cranks to life thanks to a new 12v battery and new engine air filter. The exhaust note is lovely and loud, thanks to a Rein Hard stainless catback and FGK heat-wrapped header, and the Integra sets into a confident idle once prompted for startup. A new valve cover gasket keeps the 1.8L topped up on oil and one of our trained technicians just replaced the old serpentine belts with new ones. Power is translated to the pavement through a helical front differential and the little Honda accelerates quite well. It handles even better and the adjustable coilovers keep the chassis flat in the turns. Refreshed with new trailing arm bushings, this nimble Honda pulls its way through corners and is predictable. The brakes perform above average, the steering is communicative, and the TEs are wrapped in fairly new rubber, deep in tread.
