What's New For The 2019 Ford Expedition?

Not a whole lot has been changed on the 2019 Ford Expedition, which was just revamped for the 2018 model year. The addition of the Stealth Package is the biggest difference from last year's line-up. This package lets you equip 22-inch painted black wheels and includes red stitching on the interior and a glossy black exterior. The only other changes worthy of mentioning are a few tweaks that have been made to some of the features.

Three Innovative 2019 Ford Expedition Trims

The 2019 Ford Expedition comes in your choice of three trim levels: the base XLT, the mid-level Limited, and the line-topping Platinum. The XLT is remarkably well-equipped (and even more so when you add the 202A Package, which is packed full of convenience features) for a base trim. It comes with standard 18-inch wheels, roof rack rails, a driver's seat that is power-adjustable, and a steering wheel that is wrapped in leather.

Either the 201A or 202A packages can be equipped on the XLT. The 201A adds power adjustment to the front passenger seat and synthetic leather to the first two rows of seats. The 202A gives the XLT ambient lighting for the interior, ventilated and heated front seats, and blind-spot monitoring. The Limited trim takes all of those features and adds LED headlights and foglights, larger 22-inch wheels, and a 360-degree camera system.

Also, in addition to the 301A and 302A packages, the new Stealth Edition package can be equipped on the Limited. Finally, the top-of-the-line Platinum trim takes everything you get on the Limited and its 302A package and includes upgraded upholstery and trim, seating, and active noise cancellation.

What's Under the Hood of the 2019 Expedition?

2019 Ford Expedition Exterior FrontEach trim level is powered by the same 3.5-L V6 engine, which gets paired up with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Together, this powertrain is able to sufficiently power the vehicle by providing 375 hp (which gets boosted to 400 hp on the Platinum trim) and 470 (or 480 on the Platinum) lb-ft of torque. The Platinum gets these boosts when you use 93 octane fuel to power the vehicle. This helps the Expedition get up to speed on the highway, going from 0 to 60 mph in just under 7 seconds - an impressive time for its class.

Top Notch Safety Technologies Come Standard

2019 Ford Expedition Exterior RearSafety is top-notch on the 2019 Ford Expedition. There are plenty of helpful safety features equipped on the Expedition. Some of the most noteworthy of these features are the blind spot monitoring system, adaptive cruise control with a stop-start function, and the pre-collision system with pedestrian detection. For those who want to take the Expedition off-roading, there are optional multi-surface traction control profiles that can help keep your vehicle safe on any type of surface.
