Having owned 2 - 911’s over many years, i never liked the boxster until the 2013 redesign. It was a huge improvement and what the car should have looked like from the start. The sculpted door sills made the car look bold and strong and a lot like the beloved Carerra GT. Bought a certified preowned 2014 S in black with the PDK. Would have preferred a manual but the PDK is sweet and precise. It blips perfectly when downshifting too so could be fun on the track. The car is solid, fast, beautiful and handles better than my 911’s and more like the ferraris i have owned. After all these years i still love driving this car and looking at it! Its still worth what i paid for it after 8 years of ownership which is a nice bonus.

Great car. Traded my 992 for it and can't be happier. Lovely 4.0 naturally aspirated engine that sounds incredible, great size for a sports car and looks amazing and somewhat exotic.

After just shifting from 1st gear to 2nd gear on the test drive, in my mind I was selling off my air cooled Porsches I had for a Gentian Blue Roadster. Never thought I would go from air cooled to water cooled Porsches but it was a fluke that the car I found at the dealer had been sold twice with less than 765 miles on the car. Having driven a Porsche Targa, 210 hp, 5 Spd, with a 915 Gearbox and steel clutch cable for over 20 years, I sensed a new excitement with the 2020 Spyder 718 w/ 414 hp, 8k Red Line Engine, and a 6 Spd gear box. The car had to be mine, as as my mind went from rational thought to irrational thought in a millisecond of time. The car rides very well over the prior design of Porsches of the 1980's with torsion bars front and rear verses the new coil over suspension of the Spyder 718. The manual gearing is fine as many reviews state its too tall. Who drives at the red line in every gear? Having owned prior manual gearbox Porsches, I know where to go to have gears 2-5 in the gearbox replaced at a later time after the first clutch job. The car drives amazing like most other Porsche Spyder 718reviews have stated and this is probably my last Porsche that should need as I am retired. Some people get up early to go surfing, I get of Dark 30 when there are much fewer cars on the roads and drive the mountain roads with the car. Greatest car ever.

The car handles so well. Steering feels great. There is nothing like whipping around a corner in a Porsche. It's hard to describe but you have to try it. Very comfortable to drive. You can tell they put effort into every minor detail. The sound package plus is great. Bass is strong and miss and highs are clear. Way better than I expected after reading review online. Haven't had a single issue. Happy I have the full tab interior since it's no longer offered. The V6 is very responsive and the pdk is excellent. The growl is fun too. Don't think I would swap out for a new 4 cylinder. I will hold out til they redesign again.

After 8 years I have found only a few problems with the 981 Boxster. With the top up rear view is almost impossible. (get the rear camera or put the top down). The door panels warp if living in any hot climate. (the fix is $5000) You'll think the window motor is failing but rather fighting friction. The fuel door electric solenoid stopped working effectively in locked position. Had the dealer simply remove the locking solenoid and revert to manual push-to-open. The cabin air filters (2) need changing each 5K miles. Battery change every 2 1/2 years. (ask me why) And be sure to have brake and clutch fluid flushed every two years. (use dealer it's harder than you think to keep air out)

This car is top quality, fast,fun to drive, and on the road @ 80 to 85 mph 32 to 34 mpg. It doesn't feel big and bulky like a corvette. I have owned 4 corvetts in the past and this is my second Porsch. You have to drive one and you will see
