The heat and mugginess will remain across eastern Iowa for Wednesday. As a new system approaches us tonight, the potential exists again for storms overnight.

Highs today will climb into the mid and upper 80s. Moisture already in the air, along with a wet ground from Tuesday night’s rain, will make for some oppressively humid conditions. Heat indices will likely be well over 90 in many areas. Be sure to drink plenty of water if you’ll be outside for a long duration today.

Tonight, a front will remain parked across eastern Iowa. This will help provide a spark for more storm development, as another upper level disturbance moves across the area. Strong to severe storms are once again possible, with damaging winds being the main threat.
