A new article for UN Today. This time, Marc Workman, CEO of the World Blind Union. January 4 was World Braille Day. What is this celebration really about? The ideas and technology are fully available to those who can develop solutions to improve the condition of people who cannot see (totally or partially), however not all countries and non-profit organizations have access to the funds to acquire them. What are the priorities of the organization that carries the banner of global needs? We spoke with Mark, as this day was a good opportunity for the cry of what is needed to be heard loud, clear, and across the board. Here's the article. Here's his story: https://lnkd.in/eZ-Jn6tH Possibly interesting to: Braille Institute of America, Braille transcription, The Braille Collection, Blind People's Association, India, The Blind Relief Association, Delhi, National Federation of the Blind, Blinded Veterans Association (BVA), Foundation Fighting Blindness, SNABLIND Swiss National Association of and for the Blind, Horizons For The Blind Inc, Martine Abel Williamson, Fernando Riaño Riaño, Diana Stentoft, lewis Paul Nzimande,

HEY U.S. MIC - Yes, I'm talking to YOU Wondering about new and innovative approaches to compete better in Europe? Have you considered donating to S2S and be some of the FIRST US MIC companies to help US and Allied disabled veterans living in Europe. For context.... The US has +500k service dogs for 333m folks... Europe as 200k for 750M folks. From a business model perspective, it has substantial opportunity to challenge EU's 'buy Europe' policies, especially if European citizens see your company caring for their veterans better than the EU MIC. DM me for more. It's a monster growth opportunity...

MyFaithVotes is a non-profit group whose mission resonates with key themes in my book. MFV's CEO, Jason Yates, recently addressed the National Religious Broadcaster's Conference, focusing on the principle that "nature abhors a vacuum." Yates decried that for too long people of faith bought the falsehood that America's vital institutions could be value-neutral, and many retreated from the public square. Then something else filled the vacuum - a "religion without God." His 5 minute talk is worth viewing! https://lnkd.in/grBFBqeA

Thanks to so many of you who read my personal piece about world events and reached out with messages of care. Since I posted my piece, I have seen a lot online about how to hold these conversations. On The Ross Collective blog, we've written extensively about guidelines for conversations or meetings in difficult moments--because there have been a lot of them. 😥 Below are resources you and your team may find useful: Some thoughts about how to express #leadership right now: https://lnkd.in/gGMVQP7x Some concrete techniques for creating #psychologicalsafety in hard moments: https://lnkd.in/gTAyk5TN The one thing to consider when holding a #meetings or #conversations in charged times: https://lnkd.in/gVFJ5BCR #nonprofit #facilitation

We're currently facing significant mission creep across all sectors. "Mission creep" refers to a situation where an organization or project gradually broadens its goals and scope beyond the original intent. This can occur gradually, often without a clear plan for the expanded activities. Mission creep can result in inefficiencies, resource strain, and a diversion from the organization's initial mission or core purpose. This phenomenon is a common concern in various contexts, including government, military, nonprofit organizations, and business. Hard to put the genie back in the bottle.
