1991 Chevy Silverado – Donated by Gordon Energy and Drainage

This truck, along with another truck, came to the Kansas City Kansas Public School Area Technical School Auto Collision Repair Program as a donation from Gordon Energy and Drainage in Olathe, Kansas. My students were especially aggravating one day, so I pulled this truck in and told them we were going to fix and paint it, not really thinking it would turn out to be much. I split the truck into left side for the morning and right side for the afternoon high school groups. Everyone knew which side they were responsible for, and it became a challenge to ... read more >>

2003 Chevy Silverado – Tyler S.

I bought my truck in August of 2017, the start of my senior year. We drove a little over 4 hours both ways to get my truck. When I got home the work started the next day. Over the course of a year I did everything I had dreamed of doing to it. From interior modifications from lowering it and putting aftermarket rims on it, it stands out from others on the road. Countless hours of work with help from my dad have made the truck what it is today. It’s my daily driver and gets looks everywhere it ... read more >>

2004 Chevy Silverado – Ryan S.

I bought this 2004 Silverado 2500 crew cab back in 2015 as a project to fix up and pull a trailer. It has the 6.0 LQ4 engine backed up by the 4L80E transmission, NP246 transfer case and 3.73 G80 limited slip rear axle. When I bought the truck, it was wrecked and dirty, complete with a busted-up grille, dented fenders, hood, doors, bed and bumpers. I updated the front end to the 2006 style with the HD hood and painted SS grille along with 2016 style mirrors and a 2015 Silverado rear bumper and LED tail lights. The H2 ... read more >>

2008 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD Diesel – Glynn S.

Back in June 2008 when diesel cost over $4.00/gallon, I decided it was time to trade in my old ’93 pickup for something new.  With high fuel prices, dealers were dying to get these big behemoths off of their lots.  Since my normal driver was a car, a truck sitting in my driveway doesn’t use that much fuel.  Therefore, I couldn’t refuse the dealer’s generous offer. I have always felt that “a man needs a pickup truck,” mainly for trips to the lumberyard.  That’s the reasoning for the 8-foot bed.  Being “old school,” I never really cared for shortbeds.  ... read more >>

1994 Chevy Silverado Stepside – Angel L.

Ever since I was little, I’ve always like cars and trucks, but one truck I’ve always wanted was a Chevy. Now I own a 1994 Chevy Silverado Stepside. When I saw the ad online, I just knew I had to check it out. I bought it about two years ago for a good deal. It needed a few minor things to get it running, such as a full distributor, tune-up, radiator and brake work, but overall it’s a nice, rust-free truck. The first time I saw the truck I fell in love, and I worked hard to get her. ... read more >>

1989 Chevy Silverado – Dave Z.

This truck belonged to my brother who owned a campground. I knew he had this truck and the motor was blown up so I inquired about the gas tank. I came home one night from work and the whole truck with the title in the seat was in my driveway! He had used this truck for 20 years, with a tank on the back for cleaning out the tanks of the permanent sites in the campgrounds. Other then pulling this truck out to clean tanks it sat in a big red barn for the 20 years. As I started ... read more >>

1984 Chevy Silverado – Grant S.

My father purchased this Chevy Silverado in 1987 locally and drove it as a daily driver year round until shortly after his retirement. For many years it was infrequently driven in the summer then undercoated and stored for the winter months. In the later years, due to his failing health, it never came out of storage at all. I decided to gently restore this original truck back to the way my father remembered and loved it, which didn’t require much. The truck was stripped to bare metal, minimal body repairs, repainted base/clear to original factory metallic blue / silver, ... read more >>

1985 Chevy C20 Silverado Suburban – Scott H.

Da Burb - 1985 Chevy C20 Suburban Scott Hurst’s 1985 Chevy C20 Suburban This 1985 Chevy C20 Suburban is known as “Da Burb” or sometimes as “Da Bourbon” as Scott likes to refer to her. This truck has been in Kingsport, Tennessee since she was new. When Scott was a kid he would see this 1985 Chevy C20 Suburban at a neighbor’s house that was immaculate. The neighbor would use “Da Burb” to tow his 35-foot travel trailer. The trailer had a custom built cover for it outside, but the Suburban was always kept in the garage. Both were ... read more >>
