The Type S performance brand, developed by award-winning veteran powertrain engineers, returns to Acura showrooms for the first time in more than a decade. Well-equipped in the low $50,000s, the 2021 TLX Type S features a dual-scroll turbo V-6 engine that produces 355 hp. And for the first time in a Type S model, power is distributed through Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ system with true torque vectoring for blazing acceleration and confident handling.

Designed with heritage driver-focused refinement and for extreme performance, the new ultra-rigid chassis, double-wishbone front suspension, and Adaptive Damper System all allow for precision cornering. The 2021 TLX Type S is available in six exterior colors, including the exclusive Tiger Eye Pearl, paired with three interior options,. The captivating premium finishes on the athletic TLX’s Type S includes open-surface diamond pentagon grille for increased airflow, large-quad exhaust outlets, and the available NSX-inspired lightweight Y-spoke wheels wrapped in 255-series Pirelli P-Zero summer tires that pair with Brembo® front brake calipers.

Interior Tailoring

Drivers of the Type S are in for a real treat with a leather-wrapped, flat-bottom sport steering wheel, Ultrasuede®-trimmed 16-way power seats with adjustable side bolstering, Type S embossing on the headrests, and available Type S exclusive Light Orchid interior. And the available ELS STUDIO 3D® 17-speaker premium audio system was named “Best Sound System” in the 2021 Esquire Car Awards.
