Pacifica Tribune’s freelance photographer, political pundit and special interest columnist Frank Cimo began his recounting of San Francisco’s Fleet Week celebration — events that celebrate the men and women of our Armed Forces. There was a parade of Navy ships over the weekend of Oct. 10-11, and the event that thrilled everyone from little kids and big kids alike, the Blue Angel’s Air Show demonstration. Also in the show was Sean Tucker and his Team Oracle, Julie Clark, the Patriot Jets and several other exciting and interesting aircraft acts.

Cimo, a former jet fighter plane mechanic with the U.S. Navy, is shown here with Blue Angel pilot Lt. Mark Swingley at the United Service Maintenance Facility at SFO. Cimo is also scheduled to fly aboard the Blue Angel’s support aircraft, a C-130 Hercules known as “Fat Albert.” Watch for a full-page, pictorial recount of his experiences in an upcoming article.
