She was 84. Mertrice John served Lutheran Parishes in Montana, North South Dakota and Wisconsin, working together from the time of their marriage in 1934. In 1954 they settled in Mpls where Pastor Mason took on a position in the headquarters of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America in the field of care for the aged. Mertrice Hertindahl was born in Tioga, North Dakota in 1910. Her family moved to Benson, MN eventually returned to the Tioga farmstead where they farmed into the depths of the Dust Bowl era.

At age 16 Mertrice began studies at the University of North Dakota and later it was as secretary to Dr. P.O. Holland, treasurer of St. Olaf College, that she met her future husband. Their 1st child Martha died after 4 days and is buried in Montana.

In addition to John, Mertrice is survived by 4 children, Rev. John Mason Ill of Vancouver, WA, a daughter, Solveig Kjeseth of Denver, CO, Daniel Mason of Mpls, Timothy Of New York City; a sister, Nonna Pedersen of Rolette, North Dakota and 10 grandchildren. A monthly publication with a circulation of 12,000. Maureen and Bill published the Messenger from 1982-1986. Maureen had employment with the Ohleen Dairy before and during her early years of marriage and then as a Classroom Aide at Sanford Jr.

H.S. from 1969-1984. Maureen was active in the American Swedish Institute as a volunteer and a member of the Idun Guild and Dalaforening. At Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, she served three terms on the council and sang in the choir for 25 years. A memorial mass will be held at Holy Trinity, 2730 E.

Began work in the foods industry as a shipping clerk for Ballard Ballard Co. of Louisville, KY and joined Pillsbury when they acquired Ballard in 1951. For many years he was corporate Vice President of Sales for the Refrigerated Foods Division.

He played a major role in building that division into the most important and profitable of Pillsbury's businesses. Jimmy was a lifelong fan at the Kentucky Derby. would take a volume of books to relate all the great stories, anecdotes, and memorable happenings associated with Jimmy. I do know he was, is now, and will always be 'Mr. Biscuit' of the Refrigerated Dough Business.

Jimmy is a legend in his own time for his professional leadership, energetic contributions, and his marvelous 'down-to-earth' understanding of humanity. Most meaningful, however, have been the friendships shown to many people over the years. Anderson 729-2331 Prigge (Rehwaldt) Arlene Esther was born on Dec 11, 1931 to Albert and Agnes Rehwaldt in Lyra Township on a farm near Good Thunder, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at the St. John Lutheran Church in Good Thunder before moving to Dodge Center, MN in 1945.

She attended St. John's Lutheran College in Winfield, KS, where she received Associate Arts degree in teaching. On July 12, 1957, Arlene was married to Roger Prigge. They moved often in their early years together before settling in Richfield, MN and joining Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.

In 1978 they moved to Bloomington, MN. She taught 9 years in Lutheran elementary schools in Edina, Ottertail, Howard Lake and Richfield, MN. She also served as an educational assistant with special education Dist. 287 in Bloomington. Her love for teaching led her to donate many hours helping special needs students and serving as a substitute teacher at Mt.

Calvary Lutheran School. She also taught 8th grade Sunday school at Mt. Calvary. Arlene is survived by her husband, Roger; 4 children, Candace of Bismarck, ND, Kevin of Mpls, Brendan his wife Liz of Atwater, MN, Celeste her husband Jason Ernst of Wahpeton, ND; 2 grandchildren, Weston Scott and Michala Arlene Prigge (children of Brendan Liz); 3 brothers, Edgar, Charles and Harold, and 2 sisters, Dorothy Williams and Irma Rehbein. Arlene entered the Glory of Christ on April 21, 1995 after battling cancer for nearly 8 years.

She would like to be remembered as a child of God who realized how often she failed in serving Him, but who was also confident in His mercy and forgiveness. She knew that death is the joy of receiving heaven, and that God's love is their comfort and to guide survivors. Even though we fail Him, He never fails us. GLORY BE TO GOD.
