1951 Chevy Truck For Sale

Ground up nut and bolt restoration...beautiful truck!

This is a great truck.
A 1951 Chevy 1/2 ton 5 window shortbed.
Bone stock (for the most part) and about as clean as they come without being ridiculous.
It is owned by an older gentleman who carefully restored it from the ground up about 9 years ago.
He has put only about 5,000 miles on it since the restoration
and it has always been garaged and meticulously maintained at it's home in the San Diego area.

The truck just oozes personality and while not a concours level 100% authentic restoration it is still
very well done and it runs and drives as good as it looks.
Well trimmed with goodies, some nice minor upgrades, just turn the key and go anywhere.

The body lines of this era truck just cant get any better than this.
I just love it. About as American as any vehicle could ever be.

The quality of the paint and bodywork is excellent.
Its not an overdone hand rubbed jewel finish that you would be afraid to drive, but it's very very nice.
The chrome is excellent, the fit and finish of everything is very good and I noticed no noteable damage or signs
of any funky repairs...a well done restoration by anyone's standards.

The engine is the venerable Thriftmaster 235.
The block is out of a 59 model truck and it was opened up, checked out and properly re-assembled
during the restoration. The actual miles on the engine are unknown but it truly runs like a top.

12 volt electric systen with an alternator instead of the original generator.
All new wiring throughout.

Engine compartment is nicely detailed...just a little bit of dust and minor road dirt.
Heater is functional.
The big horn on the driver's side is a dummy...a modern super loud horn is hidden underneath.

As you can see everything is nice and tidy in the engine compartment.

The chassis was all detailed and restored as well and looks great.

Dual exhaust system, 3 speed column shift transmission...runs great and the exhaust note is really nice and mellow.

Check out the bow tie exhaust tips tucked under the rear bumper...pretty cool.

Split manifold set up is pretty slick.

A shot of under the hood.

Excellent chrome and trimmings.
The body color is not an original 51 color, but it sure looks great on the truck.

Super clean and straight grille and bumper.

Hood emblem.

Running boards

16" wheels with stainless hubcaps, excellent vintage looking tires, nice pinstripes.

Very smooth down the sides.

Well done.

Glass is all excellent, weatherstripping too.

The corner windows sure are neat...great visability out of these trucks.

The bed is gorgeous!
A scant few light scratches in the wood but that's about it, and none of it detracts from the beauty of it.

Sides of the bed are super straight!

Check that out!
Nice detailing with the fasteners and such too.

Great warmth to the wood color...nicely done indeed.

Tailgate is super straight as well.

Hard to find one this straight it seems...

It has the desireable tailights on it, nice personalized California plate.
Clean title and current registration.

Ever so slight wider gap at the bottom of the driver's door.
The rubeer is all still very full and supple, the door closes excellent.
This could possibly be adjusted if it bothered you.

The interior is very nice and clean as you would expect.
A couple of slightly modern updates lke the material choice for the seat
and a modern radio. But it all still has a nice vintage feel to it.

Steering wheel is excellent.

Guages are clean and proper.
Odometer read 2956 miles at the time of the photos.
Actual mileage on the truck is unknown. Owner estimates 5,000 miles on the truck since completion of the restoration.

Very clean dashboard.

Upgraded radio in the dash, but no dash modifications made so an original radio or delete trim could be easily added.
(or just enjoy your modern music with this!)

The speedometer is a little jumpy but the odometer seems to work fine.
Other guages work properly.

Turn signal switch.

Nice rubber floor mat, everything is nice and tidy.

Body tag.

Cool accessory foot pedal for the hand brake.

Floors are very solid. This was not a rusty truck to begin with.

Door panels are nice, speakers are cut into the door but are nicely fitted.

Seat is excellent, modern seatbelts installed for safety.

Headliner.

Chrome inner door trims around the windows.
The passenger side one looks to be stainless...hardly a noticeable thing but the owner mentioned it.

Clean latches and suce...weatherstripping is excellent.

Just a darn nice truck from any angle.

As you can plainly see...this was no quickie thrown together restoration of some beater farm truck.
A lot of time and love and a pretty fat pocket full of change went into it's restoration and the results are undeniably
wonderful. This is truly a truck to be proud of. A whole lot of fun for one heck of a bargain.
