1955 VW Beetle Sedan For Sale
This Southern California based 1955 Oval is a wonderful
original survivor that is a turn-key, ready to enjoy car.
The color is called "Ultra Maroon" and was offered on the Beetle for 1954 and 1955 only.
This is the original color for this car and the interior surfaces are all original paint.
The exterior was resprayed at some point but presents a nice age and patina that
just oozes that cool "original survivor" vibe.
This is a neat car for several reasons, first the condition and color are fantastic,
but it is also a bit of a transitional car between the early and late Ovals.
It has the 55 style ribbed doors and bat wing steering wheel, etc, but it also has the
bullet front signals and larger taillights that are normally associated with the 56 model cars.
Ive not looked up the production date of this car but based on the details I would think it must be
quite close to the start of the 1956 model production.

Proper rear apron with single tip exhaust
The original engine has been recently rebuilt to exacting standards.
The car when found was not running and the engine was stuck, so the owners had
it fully rebuilt using the original case and all the details.
Proper strap top air cleaner, round voltage regulator, big nut generator, etc.
Very correct and beautifully detailed.
Rear apron is super straight and solid.
Under the engine is spotless, transmission as well looks clean.
Chassis and body are impressively solid and all original !

The paint has a gentle fade to it and there are some chips and scratches here and there
but this all just looks and feels so right...I would never restore this car.
Just maintain and preserve and enjoy the history.
