2000 VW Beetle For Sale

This is a 2000 VW Beetle built in Mexico.
Somehow it has made it over the border and it is registred in the state of Washington.
It is all original with 93,000 kilometers on it since new. (about 58k miles)
Runs and drives great and has been well maintained.

Dash is clean and nice, the modern padded steering wheel, the switches  and all the little details are here.
Radio has been changed to a modern CD player unit.

Very cool custom rear deck and 3rd brake light

Paint has remained quite nice.

Interior shows just minor wear on the drivers seat..could use a vacuum and a quick detail perhaps
but still in good shape. Rubber mats protect the original floors below.

The grey interior against the red exterior looks very nice

I can see just a little water staining on the passenger seat...this material is pretty hearty
though so I would guess a shampoo would bring this right out.

Fire extinguisher for safety!

There is an under dash storage area that you can see here...looks like speakers in there as well

I like that rear deck part...cool.

Looks like some fading to the paint on the front bumper and the black sticker along the middle is curingin up a bit
but under the front hood is very clean.

Under the rear lid it is pretty tidy too!

These Mexican Beetle engines are pretty interesting.
Fuel injected and with hydraulic valves...so no need to adjust them like with the old ones!
It runs strong. The alternator was replaced last year as was the starter.

Sweet!

You can see in the back window, the original Mexican plate sticker is still there.
To help eliminate plate theft in Mexico, they give you this smaller version in sticker form to
put on the inside of the rear window.

Now this car is titled and regostered in Washington as a 2000 Beetle.
There have been mo modifications of the chassis number or anything like that which seems common
with the Mexican cars. This car was brought across the border by the owner and titled in her name in Washington.
Not exactly sure how she managed that, but perhaps Washington is cool with it.
Before you buy this car though, you should check with your local authorities to make sure that you
can title the car in your state. Each state is a bit different in this regard.
I know here in California, this car could not easily be registered because of the smog regulations...
since it is not a model that was originally imported into the US, the smog check guys have no specs to test it to.
So it is a bit of a grey area...check it out first.

Underneath the car is very solid with no rust issues by the way.

Nice car...these are great drivers...modern feel in the old wrapper.
