1965 VW Beetle For Sale
This Northern California based
1965 Beetle has been in the family since 1966.
It is a very stock and
un-altered car.
The current owner's
grandfather bought it in 66 and kept it untiul his passing at 97 years
old and then
it went to his daughter who
had the paint redone and some other work as well.
The car then sat in the barn
until about 2005 when the grand-daughter got the car
and her husband put in some
effort and funds in doing the brakes and mechanicals.
The car is still in the
original Java green paint color and everything looks
very "virginal" as far as the
original equipment.
The current owners have been
using it as a fair weather driver and it has performed very well.
The body appears quite
straight and there are no signs of any serious damage or repair.
The body trim has a few dings
here and there but the rubber seems in acceptable shape.
There is a scratch on the
hood...but everything seems to fit very well when it comes to all the
body panels.
The bumpers are original
German units...a couple dings and scratches but still shiny.
Light scratches on the
fender...
The engine is thought to be
the original one from 65 and it runs fantastic!
Still 6 volt electrics and
very stock and proper.
Under the front hood is very
original and untouched as well.
Original paper paint code
sticker is present and the body tag looks good.
This is all original paint
under the hood.
Apron shows no signs of damage
and everything fits and lines up just great.
The dash looks amazing and is
totally stock and un-messed with,
Interior is very presentable.
Check out the stock radio in
the dash...this looks like all original finish too.
The compass is of course not original...
The original glove box in in
place and still looking fuzzy.
Carpet has been replaced.
Looks very solid
underneath...good dry California car.
Awesome!!
The spare tire and wheel and
all the hubcaps are there...original jack and tool roll too.
Fantastic original roof rack!
Detail of the roof rack...this
is a VERY uncommon version!
Many original parts were
retained..
Big pile of manuals and
receipts for all the work dont to the car...the original Black
California plates too.
Here is a shot with the
hubcaps back on the car...such a simple thing that makes such a huge
difference in the look of the car!
In closing this looks like a
very solid example with some good original attributes and history and a
decent respray in the original color.
You arent going to bring home
any concourse awards with it but I bet you will put smiles on faces
wherever it goes!
