This one is pretty special and as you look through the photos I am sure you will agree.
This Texas based 1958 Standard Microbus in the very desirable Palm Green, Sand Green color combination
is a true show stopper wherever it goes.
The result of a full rotisserie restoration and excellent care since completion,
this is a show-ready vehicle inside and out...and even the underside.
Safari windows to let in the breeze
Walk thru front seats and full width center and rear seat...plenty of room for your friends or family.
Super clean inside and a fantastic color combination.
The restoration was completed about 6 years and 5000 miles ago.
Still shows very fresh and beautiful with no notable wear.
Out back is a fully detailed and rebuilt 36hp engine that runs as well as it looks.
Spotless engine room
And even the underside of the Bus is clean enough to eat off of.
Wow
Pretty impressive!
Birth certificate from VW spells out the original paint code and options.
Originally delivered to California
Proper early decklid
All tags and numbers are intact
Properly restored wheels with excellent period sold bias ply tires.
Painted VW logo on the hubcaps is sweet
Proper pinstripes along the belt line
Excellent finish quality and shine to the paintwork
Safari windows are a fun addition to the Bus.
There is nothing quite like having those open on a nice warm day.
Pop out windows
Roof rack mounted sign and assorted decals are easily removed
I like the roof rack finished in black...gives a subtle utilitarian look to the Bus.
Nice door gaps in this photo
Same with hatch and engine lid...well fit
Always a hit at the events it has been shown.
Look at that reflection down the side...this baby is smooth!
Accessory dragon horn button.
Mega clean and simple dash.
Radio block off plate, no fuel gauge or added instrumentation.
Just the speedometer...and that's it.
Excellent headliner
Nice fit!
Door panels and interior is beautiful
I absolutely love this color combination.
Its so vintage and so pretty.
The flower power thing is a magnet...easily removed
Walk thru front seats are a very desirable option.
Very well done with correct grain rubber and all.
Excellent interior
Full width center seat is uncommon for the walk through front seat layout.
So clean
Cool...and cooler.
Very solid and clean floors as well
Some more engine detail shots...VERY clean!
Engine number 2413301 is thought to be the original to the Bus,
but it is not noted as such on the birth certificate.
Euro style headlights
Being a US delivery Bus it should have sealed beam headlamps with a clear lens
but the look of these fluted versions is super cool.
Interesting taillight lenses.
Much like the headlights, I think these are technically incorrect lenses for a US spec 59 model
but the amber color is exceptionally cool.
Coat hooks and assist straps all in place
Super clean and solid where it counts
Great level of detail
Kick panel on the center seat has the correct snowflake pattern to the aluminum trim
Quick snap of the center seat frame...very clean
She's not a leaker either!
Nearing the end of the massive photo array...the correct single tip exhaust
