Frame Up Restored Rebel Machine 390 V8 4 Speed
From its 390/4-speed drivetrain to its killer red, white and blue color combination, this awesome Rebel Machine packs a BIG performance punch inside a legendary Motor City wrapper!
This AMC's solid body panels are straight steel pieces that display great fit and excellent finish. Those panels are highlighted by a brilliant combination of Frost White and Electric Blue two-stage that, along with “glow in the dark” stripes, reflects a glossy, wet-look shine. And while that unbeatable appearance is the product of a thorough restoration that's logged a few well-deserved miles, the car was obviously well cared for and shielded from the worst of Mother Nature's wrath.
Naturally, this Machine backs those classic good looks with serious firepower. The car's core is a high performance, 390 cubic inch V8 that produces over 300 horsepower. While the mill's clean environment is primarily for function, pieces like a chrome air cleaner, bright valve covers and an American Motors washer bag add a bit of eye candy. And everything is founded between a body-matched engine bay and fully functional hood.
Behind that big dino roaster, a Borg Warner T10 4-speed, which actually pre-dates the car by two years, spins solid shifts into long-term durability. That transmission's power flows to an authentic AMC 12 bolt rear end. There's a high performance suspension that's fully sorted from its front torsion bars all the way to its rear sway bar. And mandatory power front disc and rear drum brakes hide behind 15 inch 'Machine mag-style' wheels which spin 215/65 BF Goodrich Radial T/As in front of 255/60 BF Goodrich Radial T/As.
Inside the car, a simple black interior combines quarter-mile sensibility with open road convenience. Seating is provided by a traditional bucket and bench combo that's wrapped in restoration-fresh vinyl. The car's door panels are lined in straight stainless trim, while a patriotic 'buddy seat' makes room for a tall Hurst shifter. The dash is pure 60s modern, but seems more functional than its Big Three counterparts. And behind the cockpit, a fully restored trunk is complete with a new space saver spare.
The sale of this rare muscle car includes a vintage owner's manual, four American Motors promotional disks and a few spare parts.
If you're looking for a rare and highly desirable classic, this Rebel Machine's lethal combination of strip prowess, street drivability, and serious show potential simply can't be ignored!
