Pre-Owned 1983 Oldsmobile Cutlass HURST 15TH ANV RWD 2D Coupe

This 1983 Oldsmobile Cutlass is one of 3,001 Hurst/Olds 15th Anniversary Edition examples produced for the model year and will not disappoint!! This rare example is very clean inside and out as you can see in the detailed photo set! This example remained registered in Illinois through 2022 from new. It is finished in black with silver and red accents over red cloth upholstery and powered by a 5.0-liter V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission with a Hurst Lightning Rods triple-shifter setup. Additional equipment includes a limited-slip differential, a rear spoiler, cruise control, and a Delco CD stereo. The car was recently acquired, and service in July 2022 included converting the air conditioning system to R134a refrigerant. This Hurst/Olds is now offered with an Oldsmobile Club of America scoresheet, and an accident-free Carfax report.

The car is finished in Black (19) with silver lower bodywork and red striping. A power-bulge hood and trunk spoiler were standard equipment along with Hurst/Olds decals on the doors and trunk lid. The left-rear quarter panel has been repainted below the body stripe.

Factory 15″ Super Stock wheels are mounted with 235/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. A spare is fitted in the trunk. Hurst/Olds 15th Anniversary cars came equipped with power-assisted front disc brakes and heavy-duty suspension from the factory.

The cabin houses high-back bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in red cloth upholstery, along with color-coordinated door panels and woodgrain trim on the dash and center console. Additional amenities include cruise control, a Hurst/Olds plaque affixed to the dashboard, Hurst/Olds-branded floor mats, and a Delco CD stereo. A full-length center console houses a Hurst Lightning Rods triple-shifter setup, which allows the driver to individually select gears in the automatic transmission. The air conditioning system was converted to R134a refrigerant in July 2022, and the analog quartz clock is inoperable.

The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 40k miles, while the Carfax report shows a potential odometer rollover in November 2001 and a mileage inconsistency in July 2022. True mileage is unknown.

The 5.0-liter V8 was factory rated at 180 horsepower and 245 lb-ft of torque. The battery was replaced and an oil change was performed in July 2022.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a 10-bolt rear end with a 3.73:1 ratio. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the gallery below.

The car took part in the Hurst/Olds Club of America 20th National Meet and drove on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in July 2004. It also won first place at an Oldsmobile Club of America national event in 2015, the scoresheet and award for which can be viewed in the gallery.
