The Toledo lampas saw its beginnings in a room in a Venetian palazzo overlooking the Grand Canal, or rather with the fortuitous discovery on a wall of embossed leather dating back to the seventeenth century. Leather that tells a story, translated into silk. Suitable for light use.
Martino Gamper was born in Merano, North Italy in 1971. After completing an apprenticeship as a cabinet maker, he went on to study at the Academy of Applied Arts & Fine Arts in Vienna and the Royal College of Art in London, graduating with a masters in 2000.
