For a standard installation, the 2019 G80's 3.8 L engine block has superb capabilities. Featuring six cylinders in a V-type formation, this gasoline direct injection (GDI) unit whips out 311 horsepower. A twin-turbo design is the highlight of the 3.3 L V6 engine, which yields up to 365 hp. You could unpack 420 hp from the 5.0 L V8 engine that's tuned for explosive handling. Eight speeds are standard in the automatic gearbox that's governed by the SHIFTRONIC technology. A shift-by-wire function increases the responsiveness of the transmission system, which diverts torque to a rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive with the Advanced Dual Mode. Maximum power is sent to the rear wheels for a better grip on a wet road. Otherwise, the AWD system engages only the front wheels in fair driving conditions. The 2019 Genesis G80 boasts front seats with Nappa leather, heating and cooling systems. Up to 16 different positions are available for the driver's seat. Adjustable head restrains in all five seats provide good neck support. Wood grain and brushed aluminum accentuate the contemporary design of the posh cabin.
