The Premiere was introduced in 1956 as an upscale version of the Lincoln Capri. The top-end Lincoln, it was substantially different from the more expensive Continental Mark II sold by Ford's Continental Motorcars division.
The Premiere's appearance reflected some of Lincoln's most classic styling, a derivation from the radical concept cars, the Mercury XM-800 and the Lincoln Futura, which famously became the original Batmobile. Known for a stylish exterior, high-grade interior and luxury features.
This 1956 Premiere was acquired from the previous owner who owned the car for more than 36 years. It features a beautiful two-tone green paint scheme that is complimented by the two tone green interior. The car shows very nicely inside and out despite its age, and it a rare example of a highly original car that has been cared for though its entire life.
The Lincoln 368 Y-Block engine and Ford-O-Matic transmission are original to the car, and were rebuilt approximately 20 years ago, with the car having been driven occasionally since. Power steering and power brakes make the car effortless to drive.
