closely with other Freight Operations Managers and Business Units.
 Provide a high level of operations, policy and procedure advice, also perform
high-level investigation into accidents and incidents.
 Carry out high-level investigations of incidents by using cause analysis
techniques and providing practical recommendations to prevent re-
occurrences - participating in inquiries as directed.
 Review the effectiveness of current operational work practices, procedures,
develop, implement new practices and procedures that ensure the efficiency
and safety of the division's activities.
 Formulate recommendations to improve the efficiency of the Division's
activities.
 Monitor and assess the performance of operations staff, organise and / or
deliver remedial training where required.
 Ensure staff compliance with safe-working, safety regulations as they apply to
train, station and marshalling yard operations.
 Prepare reports for the attention of senior management.
