This truck is living proof that the "built Ford tough" isn't just a sales slogan, it is based in fact. It has earned its keep for 23 years with nothing more than good regular maintenance and it still starts right up and runs great. It also looks good and is comfortable with its XLT trim package too! You gotta love a Ford!

One of the reasons it looks so good is that it received a nice respray somewhere along the way and they did it right. The Red basecoat/clearcoat shines bright and of course red just goes naturally with chrome. So up front the grill shows itself off in chrome and the headlights get a ring of it around them too. That is underlined by a sharp looking bumper with a black rub strip. The fender wells are outlined in chrome and there is a body colored and chrome side molding that runs the length of the truck to protect it from door dings. The bed looks particularly sharp with the shiny stuff protecting the top edge and a black bed liner protecting the rest of it. A black and silver panel dresses up the tailgate and the back bumper has a rubber step tread on top for safety and convenience.

Open the door and you will find Ford's XLT interior that is both stylish and comfortable. The dark red molded door panel has power window and lock switches at your fingertips as well as a couple door pockets big enough to lose things in. As you climb in, you notice that the seat feels like its brand new. And that's because it is. It was the one part of the interior showing its age, so it was replaced with an original replacement bench. The steering wheel is mounted on a tilt column with cruise control buttons within reach of your thumbs. A stock dash has the speedo in the center with fuel, voltage, oil pressure and water temp off to the sides. An FM/Cass stereo system is there for your listening pleasure just over the ventilation controls that include those for the air conditioning to keep you cool. There is a sliding glass window to the bed and red carpets are super clean and are protected by black vinyl floor mats.

Open the hood and you will find a tried and true 302 cubic inch V8 nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay. It just starts right up, idles smoothly and runs out like a fresh motor. Of course, signs of good regular maintenance are evident and a fresh battery is always a good thing. Power flows back through an automatic transmission, and then through the 4-wheel drive transfer case with manual locking front hubs to give you the confidence that you can go anywhere you want without having to worry too much about conditions. There is power steering to help wheel this ride around in parking lots and power front disc brakes assure that you can slow this truck down in a hurry. Aluminum alloy wheels mount Cooper Discovery HT tires that should get you where you want to go.

Good looking and good running. This is the kind of Ford that makes the people that own them die-hard fans.
