This 1955 Chevrolet Cameo is a rare and stylish pickup. And while we love the history, this one was fully restored to give you big block power, a more vibrant style, an overdrive transmission, and a comfy A/C interior. It makes for the classic stunner that's easy to show off everywhere.
Today we all want a premium pickup, but this market was only just emerging in the 1950s. Chevrolet recognized this and launched the Cameo Carrier in 1955. The flush-fitting bed and revised tailgate were created by utilizing the fiberglass knowledge from the Corvette line. It had full sweeping trim with an integrated hint of two-tone color, and there's a tailfin design to make this as attractive as the '55 Bel Air. We're particularly fond of the paint on this one. It's a completely unique color theme with a stylish red and black. There's even a cool silver pinstripe separating them, and its descending style in the rear reminds us of a '56 Bel Air. We're told the restoration happened about 10 years ago, but the luster we see today could put some brand-new builds to shame. That's because the consignor was also the builder, and he took extra time to give it the right features and care. That's how you ... Please ask for the full description.

Description
That's how you get details like the rare and expensive African Bubinga Rosewood on the bed floor. Plus, there was a huge investment in the mirror-like chrome on the bumpers, trim, and distinct grille. It's the kind of radiant total package that you just know will look terrific at the Sunday car show. And those modern 20-inch Rocket alloys add to the shine while also signaling this is a true cruiser.
Another one of the Cameo's distinct features was the wraparound rear glass. It lets in plenty more light to show off this truck's full custom interior. It's quite attractive where the red and black two-tone from the exterior continues with an intricate intertwining. And it takes to hear the idea that the Cameo was built to be a more comfortable pickup - including plush carpeting, comfy upholstery, and cold-blowing air conditioning. You get a cool/classic Impala two-tone steering wheel on a tilt column, and it gives you a clear view of the classic gauge panel that's now surrounded by SunPro auxiliary readouts and a large tach.
The show-ready style of this truck continues under the hood. The dark inner walls of the engine bay show off cool old-school details like the hot rod air grabber and finned Mickey Thompson valve covers. But as much as this wants to look vintage, you're really upgraded for more modern times. This is a Vortec-generation 454 cubic-inch big block. It includes upgrades like an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and headers feeding the X-pipe dual exhaust. There are nice supporting components, like the updated pulleys and an aluminum radiator with an electric fan. As you look at the full undercarriage photos, you see more of the clean style that gives you added confidence on the road. And with power steering, power brakes, front discs, and modern sport tires, this truck was made to be driven. You even have an upgraded four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.
This is the inaugural year for the Cameo Carrier, and this one has been upgraded to be a shining example of a unique history. So you are looking at something that's both rare and stunning, and it has been expertly restored to show it off everywhere. Don't miss this special Chevy, call today!
