BEAUTIFULLY RESTORED! 390 V8, AUTO, A/C, PS, PB W/ FRT DISC, GREAT PAINT/COLORS!

This absolutely gorgeous 1968 Ford F-100 pickup is what comes up when you dream of ordering one new from the factory but it shows up fifty years too late. Despite a few choice upgrades it has a factory-stock look, and the comprehensive frame-off restoration created one man's vision of the ultimate late-'60s pickup that all vintage Ford fans always dreamed of owning. With a strong-running 390 big block V8 under the hood and a stunning red-on-black color combination, this is quite honestly one of the best early 5th generation F100s we've ever seen.

Painted in what would ostensibly be considered Rangoon Red in 1968, this beautiful pickup remains quite impressive even up close. Red is not the truck's original color (it was rather bland Wimbledon White), but there aren't many better choices on a truck from the late 60s. It was extremely well done, and despite a few very minor imperfections along the bottom of he doors from use, it shines up beautifully and doesn't show any signs of having been bent or rusty. Note how the reflections of our floor are crisp and clear in the basecoat/clearcoat paint, how well the doors fit, and the very crisp look overall. Sure, there are those tiny little ...

Sure, there are those tiny little imperfections, but those are completely forgivable simply because the sucker looks awesome overall. The iconic grille is straight and clean and the very expensive side and tailgate trim really emphasizes the depth and gloss of the red finish. Of course, chrome bumpers fore and aft always look great and the bed is so beautifully painted (and likely never used), you'll think twice before you haul anything other than feathers and angel's breath.

Since they were aiming high, the pros who restored this truck installed a tasteful black bucket-seat interior to complement the red bodywork, a combination that always works. Fresh vinyl seat covers with red inserts add a lot little extra comfort, while the 'Ford' script in the seatbacks and the plush carpet below adda touch of class to the cab. The door panels are nicely upholstered, not just painted steel, which was standard equipment on all pickups back in the day, and this F-100 offers a full complement of fully functional gauges in the unique oval-shaped instrument panel. The Grant GT steering wheel with its big horn ring looks like it belongs in a more upscale vehicle but offers plenty of leverage for those poor souls who weren't smart enough to order power steering (fortunately, this truck has it). The original AM/FM radio was swapped in favor of a Pioneer AM/FM/CD head unit in the dash and the ice cold R134a A/C makes cruising an absolute delight at any distance.

If you want torque in your pickup, the 390 cubic inch V8 in this one is happy to oblige. With obvious signs of a fresh rebuild, it cackles like it belongs in a Mustang and is dressed like it should be, too, with chrome valve covers and a matching chrome air cleaner. There certainly sounds like there's an upgraded cam inside, along with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and matching intake on top, as well as a set of Hedman long-tube headers. It's a neat fit in the F-100's engine bay and it definitely has a Ford performance look that feels right. Ford Blue engine enamel brightens things up and there's a serpentine belt system and new tune-up parts for the MSD ignition system, while a big aluminum radiator keeps the whole show nice and cool. The C6 3-speed on the column automatic transmission is a perfect match for the engine, and the rear end out back is more than up to handling all the horespower. The frame and running gear are in fantastic condition and there's a throaty Flowmaster dual exhaust system that sounds great. Shiny chrome American Racing Torque Thrust wheels strike the right tone and carry 235/70/15 front and 275/60/15 rear Cooper Cobra G/T white-letter radials.

This ultra-clean Ford is so well done that you'd think it should cost thousands more than it does. Instead, you can own one of the finest late-60s pickups we've ever seen for a fraction of the restoration cost. Call today!
