#'S MATCHING 283 V8, ADDED F/I, 4SPD TRANS, VERY CLEAN, GR8 COLOR COMBO, SHARP!!

Since we don't have the room here to wax poetic all day regarding this stunning 1960 Chevrolet Corvette, let's just go over some of the top highlights: matching numbers 283/230 V8, a period-correct 4-speed manual transmission, and a wicked Black-on-Black color combination punctuated by the C1's iconic droptop profile. If you've been looking for an investment-grade Corvette, there aren't many choices better than this 1960 droptop.

Tuxedo Black is a dramatic color on a C1, highlighting Chevy's iconic design better than just about any other shade, punctuated further by the elegant Sateen Silver side coves at the flanks. It's fitting that this car's repainted finish looks 100% correct because nothing looks as good as a dark-colored Corvette convertible. You want attention, you'll get it in this fiberglass work of art, but you'll be too busy grinning like an escaped convict even to notice. In 2012, a comprehensive, open-checkbook restoration commenced on this C1 beauty, and three years later, it was finally completed. The build always had an eye toward being a show-contender that could be driven and enjoyed, not some NCRS Blue Ribbon trailer queen destined to spend its life behind roped-off ...

The build always had an eye toward being a show-contender that could be driven and enjoyed, not some NCRS Blue Ribbon trailer queen destined to spend its life behind roped-off exhibitions. Since it was finished in 2015, it has spent time dropping jaws everywhere. Fit and finish are simply spectacular, truly befitting the car's price tag and status with nary a blemish. We don't use words like "perfect" and "flawless," but this car is very nice, the direct result of a vehicle taken all the way down to bare fiberglass and then conscientiously built back up to top form. Even up close, you'll notice that all the little stuff is right: the doors close flush, the body gaps are even, and the pleats in the profile coves and gorgeous rear end are almost sharp enough to give you a paper cut. Sure, there are some micro-scratches and a small number of tiny blemishes here and there, but we're nitpicking to point them out, and the vast majority could be remedied with a cut-and-buff and shiny layer of wax. C1s have the perfect amount of chrome, and everything on this car was professionally refinished back to stock, including the bumpers, toothy grill, and the brightwork highlighting the coves that help the two colors POP. And take a long look at that beautifully sculpted rear end – the last year of the ornate design before they all started to look like the C2s, highlighted by the final year offering of integrated taillights atop the fenders.

Inside, this slick C1 features a complementary black interior, restored to factory specs because liberties shouldn't be taken during a build of this magnitude. It's all new, with fresh seat covers, new carpets, door panels, and an expertly refinished dashboard packed with all those original-spec goodies. Corvette engineers provided a full array of gauges from the beginning of the make, all of which have been expertly restored in this car, including the 160 MPH speedometer and correct 5500 RPM redline, and even the clock was beautifully finished. This one includes a restored and functional Wonder Bar radio, color-keyed vinyl floormats that keep the floors clean, and a cue-ball topped shifter atop the 4-speed manual gearbox. Like most C1 Corvettes, there aren't too many options, although you get power windows, a working heater, lap belts, and a black convertible top that seals up the cabin nicely (should you ever dare to drive this beauty in the rain). There are no modifications, no aftermarket upgrades, and nothing that detracts from the authentic Corvette experience, and that's precisely why this particular C1 is the one to own.

Ok, so this Corvette wasn't born a 'Fuelie.' Still, it has all the period-perfect Rochester Products fuel injection and intake kit on it now, and should you want to go back to the car's original hardware, the original intake set-up comes with the vehicle as well. Rebuilt during the restoration, the numbers-matching 283/230HP V8 runs beautifully today, with a cackling exhaust note and the symphony of mechanical lifters on the high-lift cam. All the correct details are there, too, from the super-clean 'Fuelie' intake, a Delco Ray generator, the chrome ignition shield, to the finned Corvette valve covers at the flanks. Ram's horn exhaust manifolds dump into a reproduction dual exhaust system. As long as you're looking around under there, note the insanely clean floors and rugged underpinnings, which make this a bonafide show-caliber car in just about every single way. The Borg Warner T10 4-speed gearbox is date-code correct and shifts smoothly through each gear, spinning a GM 10-bolt rear end upgraded to a 3.70-geared positraction unit. Black steel wheels with factory hubcaps are precisely what you'd get in 1960, and they're all wrapped in 6.70-15 American Classic whitewalls for a factory look.

An insanely thorough and documented restoration, a matching numbers engine, and a great color combination make this an exceptional 'Vette. Offered with a stack of receipts and a massive book of photos of the restoration, along with a set of owner's manuals and service guides, this C1 checks all the boxes. Call today!
