What's New for the 2018 Ford Focus?

Available in both four-door sedan and five-door hatchback models, the 2018 Ford Focus stands out as an excellent first car for a solo driver or an affordable alternative for families on a budget. Changes for the current model year are minimal beginning with four new exterior colors like Blue, Lightning Blue, Hot Pepper Red, and Outrageous Green to replace Race Red, Ruby Red, Blue Candy, and Kona Blue. Two-way adjustable headrests replace 4-way versions, the SE Appearance Package can now be ordered on any SE trim with any engine, and the deletion of the single-disc CD player from the S and SE levels.

2018 Ford Trims and Features

The S trim includes AdvanceTrac® with Electronic Stability Control, which continuously monitors road and driving conditions to maximize traction by applying the brakes and managing engine power. The SE trim includes SiriusXM® Satellite Radio, and you can enjoy over 150 channels that include exclusive talk, live sports, and commercial-free music. As for the SEL, the power moonroof opens with the push of a button. To enhance visibility, particularly during the day, the LED Signature Lighting contains dedicated Daytime Running Lamps. In addition, for the Titanium, colder days can warm your hands through the heated steering wheels. When the air gets misty, chrome-bezel fog lamps can light the way. Unique to the interior of the ST  is a flat-bottom steering wheel wrapped with perforated leather and decorated with ST badging. Outside, 18-inch Rado Gray-painted alloy wheels grip the road with Y-rated summer tires. Finally, for the RS, this limited-edition trim features an aerodynamic grille and chin splitter, a rear diffuser, and a distinctive spoiler to optimize high-speed handling by almost eliminating lift.

The 2018 Ford Focus relies on three sources of power. The Direct Injection 2.0-liter inline-4 features Twin-independent Variable Cam Timing and a 5-speed manual transmission to get up to 34 MPG on the highway and 25 MPG in the city*. The 1.0-liter EcoBoost® inline-3 uses Auto Start-Stop Technology to shut down at every stop and restart again when you step on the accelerator. Fuel efficiency achieves up to 38 MPG on the highway and 27 MPG in the city.* The permanent magnet electric traction motor, which uses a single-speed automatic, features a driving range of 115 miles by depending on the 33.5 kWh lithium-ion battery, which charges in as little as 5.5 hours when plugged into a factory-installed 240-volt charger at home or a public charging station. Transmission types range from a 5-speed manual to a 6-speed automatic with SelectShift®.

Ford Focus Safety

Multiple driver-assist technologies help make the 2018 Ford Focus safe and secure. When you go into reverse, the Standard Rear-View Camera projects video of what's behind you onto the dashboard screen so you can avoid obstacles. The Lane Keeping System keeps you centered on your path if you drip by nudging steering until your vehicle gets back in line. You'll change lanes with more confidence when the Blind Spot Information System audio-visually warns you that a vehicle has entered your blind zone. To ease parallel parking, Active Park Assist steers your vehicle into an open spot as you control the accelerator, gearbox, and brakes. If you want to remotely monitor your vehicle, download the MyFord Mobile app to your smartphone. You can then use it to find your car in a big parking lot, create a trip with numerous stops, or check the battery charge level in the Electric trim.
