Description

Brand new 1/18 scale diecast car model of 1972 Pontiac Firebird T/A Trans Am Starlight Black with White Stripes "Class of 1972" "American Muscle" Series die cast model car by Auto World. Limited edition. Brand new box. Real rubber tires. Has steerable wheels. Officially licensed product. Has opening hood and doors. Made of diecast with some plastic parts. Detailed interior, exterior, engine compartment. Dimensions approximately L-10.75, W-4.25, H-2.75 inches.?? In 1972, General Motors experienced the longest united automobile workers strike in history that lasted from April 7 to September 27. That 174 day period greatly impacted the production of the 1972 Pontiac T/A as only 1,286 were built. The only colors offered that year were Cameo White or Lucerne Blue. Pontiac didn't offer a Trans Am in black until 1976. Interestingly, a handful of special-order versions of the Trans Am painted Starlight Black escaped into the public, making them the first-ever black T/As. With this 1:18 scale die-cast, Auto World has replicated one of those rare cars. Under the hood, you will find the 068 high-lift cam, an open Shaker scoop, Rochester Q-Jet atop an aluminum intake manifold and the standard 455 H.O. engine. It made 300 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. That was an improvement from previous years. Auto World is happy to bring you this, rare, highly sought after muscle machine.
