This PHS Documented1968 Pontiac GTO is finished in the desirable color combination of Solar Red with a Black Interior. Factory equipped with a Number Matching Pontiac 400cui Big Block and a 4 Speed and Original options that include Soft Ray Tinted Glass, Bucket Seat Interior, the Optional 4 Speed Console and Red Stripe Tires. This Goat was owned by an avid car collector who maintained a personal museum of over 150 cars. This particular car, although rarely driven, was one of his favorites and remained in his personal garage until his passing in 2003. An oil change sticker from the 90s indicates service at 42,000 miles. The current odometer reads just over 45,000 and according to his family is accurate. This timewarp GTO is in stunning condition. It has been well maintained and cared for all of its life. The original body panels and undercarriage are solid and the manufactures stampings are still visible in areas. A Frame-on restoration was completed in the early 90s and the paint is still in exceptional condition. Panel fit and alignment is flawless. The front Euro Bumper has no cracking or flaws and is perfectly aligned with the famous GTO scooped hood and front fenders. All GTO badges and stickers along with all of the exterior chrome, stainless, lenses and markers are in like new condition. The front grill inserts are perfectly aligned and in factory new condition. Pontiac Rally Wheels wrapped in Firestone 70 Series Red Stripped Tires round out the exterior look. The Original Interior shows very well and is highlighted by factory bucket seats and a full length 4 speed console with storage and arm rest. The wrapped dash is free of shrinkage, warps, or cracks. The fully functioning gauges and their lenses are crystal clear. The wood veneer and other interior trim look just as they did when they left the factory. The windows glide up and down easily. The headliner, sail panels, door panels and carpeting are in great shape also. Also included with this 69 GTO is some original documentation, including the original owner information, protect-o-plate, warranty booklets and owners manuals. The Pontiac GTO was an icon of the American muscle car era, and looking at this one you will be reminded of a time when pure performance dominated the domestic car industry.
