Hey I was wondering if anyone could tell me or show me a picture of how the tail lights are supposed to be wired on a 71 Super Beetle. Thanks in advance.

Here on "19-VW-74"'s rebuild link it shows a little on super beetle tail lights:
The Thread: Austin's 1974 Standard Beetle Body-off Restoration Project. And here is the Schematic that is here on the Samba for your 1971 Super Beetle Wiring.

I found a set of NOS Hella Mexico elephant tail light assemblies in the classifieds for $100. These are the 4-bulb like original instead of the 3-bulb one size fits all that everyone sells.

Also installed new genuine VW of Mexico chrome headlight rings.

The shine is fantastic. Not so impressed with the aftermarket turn signal lenses that I had to file to fit correctly. They also get condensation on the inside, so that's no bueno. If anyone knows where to get some high quality late turn signal assemblies or parts, please chime in.

On a better note, I have started wiring the rear of the car. I ran the main harness from the dash to the engine bay and started organizing the wires. I used those plastic adhesive anchors designed to be used with zip ties. I also ran plastic loom under the car to protect the reverse light wires. The Wiring Works kit is very complete and of the highest quality. There are a few omissions from the kit that kind of peeve me off, but that will be solved soon.
