Triumph TR 2 long door. My story.

Everything has its time - and its history!

Who am I?

November 1953 I was one of the first TR 2 to leave the Triumph factory in England
Coventry.

Only 145 of my siblings left the gates in front of me to happily drive their new owners across the streets of the world. In 1953 only 248 TR2s were built. Unfortunately, most of my older siblings are no longer on the streets. As far as I know, I am the seventh - oldest Triumph TR worldwide and the third - oldest in Germany.

Oh yes, I have a little "birth defect". Something like a birthmark that makes me special:
My designers meant well and led the doors over the sills. It looks great, but it has the disadvantage that my doors cannot be opened on high curbs.
That's why I am called "Longdoor" today.

Oh, I could tell you so much about myself ...

You can find that and the price with a lot of detailed photos on the page:

Very beautiful car....one of the nicest looking TR's I have ever seen. I owned a new 1961 TR3A and currently own a 1976 TR6. They are truly wonderful automobiles and always a pleasure to drive.

Hi Michael,Nice TR2. I am a Triumph car collector and I am compiling a TR2 Register and would like to include the engine number and chassis numbers of TS145L, if possible. Could you share them with me please. PS: The first produced right hand drive TR2 car (TS2) was purchased by a doctor in my hometown here in Ireland in 1953.

Bill Lynn here The prior owner of TS 146L was Hermann Kirchweger. I seem to have more information on your TS 146L than you possibly have. Hermann must have given me that information. I have the original engine number. The Interior color was geranium leather. I may have a Factory Trace for your car too and possibly the body number. I have in my collection TS 69L, 50% ownership in TS 141L with Jeff Kelley, President of Triumph Register of America. We just completed restoration ofTS 141L. It is exactly the same colors as your TS 146L (Triumph exterior and geranium leather interior).Brendan Kavanagh please note. I started the International TR2 Survivor List and the TR2 Scrapped List more than 10 years ago. It's absolutely free and is posted on the Vintage Triumph Register's website under the TR2 Triumph model. You need not be a VTR member to access the lists. Between the two lists we have information on nearly 1500 TR2's. We should compare our lists you can contact me at my email address triumphtr2@aol.com .
