The car was originally purchased in 1971 by Wally Tackett, a pharmacist in Oregon. It is not clear how long he had the car or to whom he sold it. However, at some point the car was acquired by Malcolm Call who lived in California. From thence the car was sold to Canada in 2006. I bought it in July 2013 from Alan Stewart in British Columbia. The vehicle was running, but not well, and had issues with the brakes and electrical.
Alan Stewart had some work done on the clutch and did normal maintenance. He used the car very little. The history prior to that is pretty murky, but there is a timing chain among the (usual) box of accompanying parts, it would be nice to know when that was done!

Hi Edidn't know you had a Stag when you came by my place the last time in your Spit. I'd sure like to see the Stag up close so if you're up for it, give me a call when the damn snow is gone and I'll swing by and have a gander at it and swap Triumph lies with ya. I'm in the book - Topsail Hill.Cheers,Bob

Hi Bob,I've had the Stag for a few years... I actually was looking for a P6, since Ros doesn't drive a standard, but, well you know how these things happen! We keep the Stag at our place in Saskatoon and it doesn't get much use as I'm still not retired. It is a sweet car to drive, solid on the road and with the hardtop installed very quiet. It has the Triumph 3L with the original dual strombies and that engine sounds fabulous. I would like to bring it here, but I have a single car garage and outside storage would kill it. It has been a very good platform to work on. the build quality is good; it has had some panel repairs and will need more. But its very drivable. Judging by the box of engine parts, sometime in the past it has had pistons and heads done. I have had no overheating problems (this was a teething pain with the model). Even though it is a short stroke engine it has lots of low end torque and will pull away from stop in any gear. I will redo all the suspension parts since I like the tightness of t
