Registry: 1978 Triumph Spitfire 1500

Great looking 5-year old respray in a lighter shade than original Triumph inca yellow, even though tends to look a lot like inca in photos. New color is closer to primrose yellow like a 60s Jag or TR4 and very classy looking. Color change was done right with all trim removed and all visible metal covered with new color (frame rails, boot interior, door jambs, etc). Fully restored interior with solid black vinyl instead of houndstooth fabric center panels. I restored a different '78 with the proper houndstooth fabric about 10 years ago and while it looked great, it didn't age well so I went with all black vinyl this time. All new rubber everywhere and replacement walnut dash. Mechanicals are completely stock including water choke, all smog gear, etc - everything works fine for now, but the near-future plan is to desmog the car, fit dual SU carbs, and a Bell stainless exhaust from 4-2-1 headers to dual mufflers. Halogen headlights with relays make night driving a pleasure! I highly recommend that upgrade for any Spitfire owner. Suspension has been refurbished but not upgraded and it rides great and even handles RR tracks and speed bumps with ease due to the factory ride height, which I like - yes, it sits a little high at all four corners, but that's the proper vintage street car look to my eye. 42k original miles and climbing fast with me. Soon will be a year-round car once I fit a factory steel hardtop which I have recently acquired and needs painting to match the car. A great little car all around. Thanks for looking!
