Meliscki - Review

Good morning
I hope you are doing well
I renewed for one more year with Motley Fool because one year is too short for a final conclusion
My frustration with Motley fool is due to CHWY, TSLA and PAYC indications that fell down around 40% right after being indicated by Motley Fool .
Thanks,
Meliscki .

Motley Fools? Some of the worst advice you can get on investing.

As far as I can tell, after losing hundreds of thousands of dollars with them, they are indeed a bunch of individual, scattered, overconfident fools with no peer scrutiny whatsoever. They let individual "fools" write their recommendations, which are pretty much free-wheeling subjective rants to promote individual stocks. If there is a sudden bump up in the price, a top-level Motley Fool might self-congratulate. If there is a 95 percent fall - which is not uncommon, as I can see in my Motley Fool portfolio, you never hear from them. Their self-reported earnings are at best highly dubious. Stay away from them - they are not to be trusted

Over all good

Over all, I'm happy although I lost a lot. It was only because I happened to pick all these losers, such as Lemonade, Redfin, Zillow, and Upstart. What irritates me is the fact that the people who talk about some stocks with so much passion once suddenly disclose that they have sold shares and/or start talking about the same stock in very negative ways... Since I can't watch/read every video/article, every time I encounter this kind of incident, I feel very stupid.

Always 10 other companies

I like alot of the content and context the Motley Fool puts out. However, I have always been curious at how you can look up Motley Fool news about 100% of the public companies and the Motley Fool always has 10 better companies that they would recommend. If there are not any other public companies, how can they recommend 10 better ones? Is there a parallel universe stock market or is Motley Fool more interested in getting your money?

I am mostly pleased...

Well you recommend stocks that perform well. Especially when I became a member back in '16.
Especially NVDA!
I think you could do better advising to sell before companies tank.
And I wish you had put a buy on NVDA when it reached a low of $108 or so in the recent past.

Good recs; too many solicitations to upgrade

Generally good recommendations over the years and have learned a lot and done a few % better than the S&P500 over the long haul (~25 years). But there are too many long-winded solicitations to upgrade my subscription.

Motley Fool is a Buy

Motley Fool is a great advisory tool. Lots of different subscription options for all kinds of investors, and it removes most of the guesswork and stress from stock purchasing.

Fed up with constant new services and overlapping picks within these services. I want a single service, for which I will pay a reasonable fee.

I have some concerns with regards to the experience level of some of your analysts.

Foolish Investor with Several Frustrations

I have learned a lot about investing and have been successful overall. However, my reason for not giving 5 stars is for 3 reasons.

1. Contacting customer service is difficult to say the least. Once done, multiple times I have received responses that looked scripted and did not really address my question. That make my question seem not important.

2. The website has lots of tools but is difficult to navigate. The search function does not work well either. Even when I know what I am wanting to look at, finding it is difficult.

3. The app has been a great addition but is very glitchy. Here are just two examples. When reading an article that lists multiple stocks toward the top, when you scroll those icons side to side, it will sometimes close the article. There is no way to go back where you were unless you remember the name. Next, when reading an article, if a new article notification comes in, it moves to that article. Lots of bugs.

I really like the radioshow the most and the website and membership provides some additional value as a good reference. Your constant work to upsell me and more advanced offerings is really annoying so please reduce this.

It's faster to read than to listen to audio babble. The transcriptions of your audio are bad. It seems the transcriptions may be done by a program with no human clean up. Due to this, I use Fool less and less.

What I think of the Motley Fool's service

I like your website, I like the graphs, and I like the way you put the issues up against the competition.
The area that I could see and look for improvement is in the area of reviews of new trends. It is very hard to look into the future, but the educated thought process on why a new idea is going to work is always very subjective. I think you could expand on your thought processes on why you believe a new trend is going to be profitable.

Membership has resulted in substantial gains and substantial losses in my portfolio. On balance the gains have been greater than the losses so far. I guess I have the normal investor psychology and the losses hurt especially 10X. I like the Epic Bundle and have learned to stay away from programs like 10X.

I like the stock recommendations

I like the stock recommendations, but even more so, I like the updated news and discussions by the analysts of what is going right and wrong with them. I also like reading the views of dissenting analysts. I also like the categorizing of investments into aggressive, moderate and conservative categories and whom they might be good for or not.

DIY investing like a pro

If you have no stock picking skills (like me) Motley Fool is great because they have a range of services for everyone. They have allocation tools that take the guess work out if you have no idea where to start. The most important thing to know is they are NOT trying to time the market. Follow their guidance about buy and hold at least 25 stocks for 5 years and you’ll do well. And that 20% of your stocks will likely produce 80% of your returns. Every stock will not be a winner. Some will be real dogs, some will be unbelievable in gains. There is a constant barrage of market forces that no one can predict. But if you buy and hold good companies that MF recommends, you will prevail through the rough spots. And there will be rough spots. They provide tomes of information, they cover the pros and cons, you can chat with other subscribers and with the MF analysts. There’s as much or as little help as you want and they have something for every risk tolerance, and every level of experience. If you want DIY investing, Motley Fool is for you.

Motley Fool has given me excellent advice over the years and because of them I have done very well in the market. Are they perfect? No!! But they have hit some home runs for me with the likes of AAPL, ABNB, CAT, DE, JPM, LLY, NVDA, UNH, and others.

Where's the old Motley Fool I knew and loved?

i've been with motley fool for at least 15 yrs. and i've gotten great advice from them. but lately they are more interested in persuading you to buy more and more 'special reports' hyping more and more extras! so now i'm spending around $499 for a bundle of reports! They continuously send e-mails for other reports to get you to spend more and more so now they are like any other newsletter that uses the same tactics. regrettably i've decided to cancel my subscription because the cost outweighs the value.
