1929 Buick Model 121 Roadster
Here’s Buick’s sportiest body style and the biggest engine available in 1929, the model 121 Roadster!
.
A sporty and handsome car, done in the Elkhart Indiana fire department colors. It also includes a working siren, visible in front!
.
Buick was making great strides with this car, setting the stage for the luxurious offerings of the 1930’s.
.
It’s an older restoration.
.
I like the artillery style wood wheels.
.
The rearmounted spare is cool too!
.
And of course the rumbleseat. Note the beautiful bumpers that accomodate the spare wheel/tire!
.
.
.
The Rumbleseat is a great feature!
.
a true 2 seater!
.
Seats are in very good condition, the carpet shows some age.
.
Drum speedometer.
.
Original gauges
.
There’s the big 309 cubic inch Buick straight 6 cylinder engine.
.
Overhead valves were quite advanced for 1929.
.
Here’s the spark plug / generator / waterpump side
.
Very interesting Delco-Remy generator/distributor unit.
.
This is the coolest – a working siren! If you’re the fire chief you need a siren!
.
And here it is with the top raised.
.
Sporty even with the top up!
.
The very essence of the roaring 20’s !
