Starting to Use MyWaseda (for Student)

Overview
To get started with MyWaseda, you need to complete the initial setup.
- Create your email address
- Change password

- PC connected to the Internet
- Waseda ID: User Copy, distributed at the time of entering university
MyWaseda Initial Setup
* From 2:00 am to 4:00 am, the function cannot be used due to daily maintenance.
Initial Setup Procedure

Notes on input and error cases
Valid characters
- Valid characters for Waseda Mail address
-
- Lowercase letters a-z (single-byte only)
- Numbers 0-9 (single-byte only)
- The only symbols allowed are dash (-), underscore (_) or dot (.) (single-byte only).
- Your ID cannot begin or end with a symbol.
- Your ID must include at least one alphabetic character.
- Your ID must not include consecutive symbols. - Valid characters for a password (single-byte only)
- - Lowercase letters a-z
- Uppercase letters A-Z
- Numbers 0-9
- Symbols ! # % * + - , : < = > ? [ ] ^ _ { }
Create your Waseda Mail address

The obtained email address shall be in the format xxx@yyy.waseda.jp The section before "@", or the xxx section is called an email account name, which you can create as your desired characters. The section after "@". or the yyy section is called a sub-domain, and can be selected from the names of Japanese traditional colors according to qualification as shown in the table below.
Enter your desired email account name in the field before "@", and in the case of a student, select your desired sub-domain form the pull-down menu.
If a message as below is displayed after pressing the [Review] button, there is a problem with the input character string, or it may not be possible to obtain the character string, or the input e-mail address is already being used by another person. Try different character strings.

Use the obtained Waseda Mail address
Use the obtained Waseda Mail address to confirm that you can log in with the created Waseda Mail address and new password.
Using the MyWaseda

Other Services
There is a fixed period of time required before you can start to use some of the services.

If this happens…
- When using the "UCARO" for entrance procedures

Waseda ID and initial password will also be issued to those who already have a Waseda Mail address.
The "Waseda ID User Copy" containing your Waseda ID and initial password can be output from UCAROSteps to output Waseda ID user copy using UCARO
- Log in to UCARO
- Select “受験一覧(examination list)” from the menu button (三) on the top right
- Select the faculty, etc. for which you completed the admission procedure and press the "合否照会(pass/fail inquiry)" button
- When you press the "Waseda ID利用者控/Waseda ID User Copyを印刷する(Print Waseda ID User Copy)" button on the pass/fail inquiry screen, the "Waseda ID User Copy (PDF)" will be displayed. Please download it to your PC, print it, etc., and keep it in a safe place.
* To log in to UCARO, you will need the UCARO account used for web application, inquiry about results, and admission procedures.
* If the period for using the UCARO pass/fail inquiry screen has passed, please contact the office of the faculty/graduate school you are enrolling.
* If the "Print Waseda ID User Copy" button is not displayed on the UCARO pass/fail inquiry screen, please wait until the publication start date.
- When you are not using the "UCARO" for university entrance
- Your "Waseda ID user copy" is issued, in paper form etc., by the school/graduate school office you are entering.
If you have not received this, please inquire to the relevant office.
Until the "ID registration Start Date" is reached, it is not possible to log in to MyWaseda.
Please start your work from the "ID registration Start Date" described on the Waseda ID, initial password notification.
Check that there are no mistakes in the input character string.
- Have you entered any full-sized characters? The ID and password must all be in half-sized characters.
- Have you entered uppercase and lowercase characters correctly?
You can enter in uppercase, if you hold the Shift key down while entering. - Have any characters that are easily mistaken been input correctly?
Number “1”, uppercase “I”(i), lowercase “l”(L)
Number “0”, uppercase “O”, lowercase “o”
If the problem is not resolved even after trying the above, refer to "When You Cannot Login to the MyWaseda".
The screen of another account or service is displayed
If you see the "Pick an account" screen or another Microsoft account or service system screen when you log in, you are authenticated with another Microsoft account, or your open browser has different Microsoft account information. It is possible that you are recording. Log off the screen that appears, close all browsers and try again.
If a screen like the one on the right is displayed, click "Use another account".
If the initial setup screen is not displayed despite logging in to MyWaseda, perform each step individually with reference to the following item “Waseda ID acquisition/continuation screen is not displayed.”
If you are unable to log into MyWaseda, try different combinations of the Waseda ID, the obtained Waseda ID, and initial password and changed password. If you are still unable to login, inquiry to the IT Desks, explaining the content and status of operation in detail.
If you have been enrolled as a different student until recently, you will see a procedure for continuing to use the
Waseda Mail address you are using after graduation.
Please carry out mail address reinstatement procedure according to the screen guidance. Please refer to the next page for details.
After completing initial setup, it takes approximately 3 hours until Waseda Mail can be used.
Where the following screen is displayed, try again after sufficient time has passed.
