Bathurst Library has a couple of upcoming events. Author Judy Nunn will speak at the library about her new book Khaki Town from 6.15pm on October 15 and a free talk on legal rights under the National Disability Insurance Scheme will be held on Friday, October 18 from 11am. The Macquarie Care Centre Auxiliary welcomes new members to meetings. Join the members for afternoon tea after the meetings, which are held the third Wednesday of each month at 2pm in the St Vincent's Function Room, Gormans Hill Road.

Thursday, October 17
Andrew Fletcher will talk about the stories Bathurst's World War One veterans never told when he speaks at the next Bathurst District Historical Society Monthly Muster. Hear how nurses suffered great hardships just to keep nursing the men. The Monthly Musters are held in the Uniting Church Activities Hall in William Street, opposite Machattie Park. Musters, which are open to the public, start at 7.30pm.
Friday, October 18

Saturday October 19
Spring Markets will be held at Miss Traill's House and Garden from 9.30am to 3pm. Enjoy morning, afternoon tea and a barbecue lunch. There will be children's activities, relaxing music in the garden and you can do a tour of Miss Traill's House for $5.
Holy Trinity Spring Fair will be held in the Parish and Community Centre at 81 Gilmour Street, Kelso on Saturday, October 19 from 9am to 1pm. Stalls will include white elephant, books, craft, cakes, bargains for blokes, bling and Christmas gifts. There will also be a barbecue, Devonshire teas and a chocolate wheel. Raffle will be drawn at 1pm.

Can Assist Bathurst will hold a fundraising Christmas lunch at the Bathurst RSL on November 14. Cost for the lunch is $40 per person and it will feature a two-course meal, tea and coffee, raffle prizes and lucky door competition. Call Barbara Piddington on 6332 1036 for tickets.
