Horrible service. They're not paying my doctors since there's a 'flag on my account' saying that SCAN is not my primary. Everything is correct with SCAN and Medicare. ADOC says it takes time. It's been three months. I'm at my wits end since I currently have medical issues and don't want to wait much longer.

Every time I call it takes an hour because I start with my doctor, then call Anthem, then call ADOC, then call the provider again anyways. For everything.
If you press 3 for "customer service" the ADOC auto-menu literally hangs up on you. The only way to get through is to call them and push the option for "Considering signing up for ADOC? Press option 28" and then someone answers the phone and puts you on hold 15 times.
When flashing my insurance card, Doctors roll their eyes and give you sub-standard care, medical equipment suppliers randomly reject you even though they technically should accept ADOC. Anthem Blue Cross, my ultimate insurance carrier won't do anything to help you when you are ADOC, and I pretty much have to go to Urgent Care whenever there is something wrong.
I have resorted to going to Tijuana to see doctors whenever I need something done because this insurance is so bad. I found another doctor in Santa Ana who will let me pay out of pocket for treatment so I go to him as well. Basically, I don't use my insurance for anything because it reminds me of how bad America's healthcare system is and is an absolute trainwreck.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sheri S.Long Beach, CA218532Jun 30, 2017
Rude, Rude and ruder. John C. or whatever your real name is.... This was by far the most condescending person I have dealt with in a long time and a medical IPA!!! to boot. If I did not advocate for my father, he would have not even HEARD what this person said to me. I called to find out why my father had no coverage on something that he has coverage on, but the customer service did not exist. How awful that people have to deal with this. Shame on you ADOC.

Update....The California Insurance Commission assisted me by contacting Healthnet. Payment was made within 2 weeks, and they gave them 24 hours to pay the ambulance company!!! If you ever have problem with ADOC, or any other IPA/HMO, not paying your claim, contact them online. It was painless, and I was shocked that a governmental agency could act with such efficiency.
Don't let these unscrupulous insurance companies rip you off!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jul 27, 2016Previous reviewThe hospitalists at Hoag, and Orange Coast Memorial were very compassionate. Only nice thing that I have to say. When it comes down to paying claims, this company is TERRIBLE. They took money back from one hospital, and did not pay an ambulance bill which resulted in 2 accounts going to collections. The hospital bill was repaid almost 2 years later, and the ambulance bill is still hanging out there for 2 years now. This was an HMO plan, and both bills had the required prior auth.I should not have to deal with this at all. The contract with our employer is through Health Net. When you call them, they say the "IPA" is responsible for the bill. When you call ADOC, they refer you back to Health Net. They say they are waiting for additional documents, but I find it hard to believe that they have not received them, since the provider would send them if they want their money. I base this mistrust on the experiences that I have had with the customer service department. "Earving" is a complete piece of crap. Unhelpful, rude, and when asked to speak to his supervisor, he stated that there isn't one. Finally I got ahold of the extension for his boss "Claudia". No response to messages.
I believe that they avoid paying their bills by wearing people down with ridiculous bureaucracy.
Now I have a PPO plan because of the ineptness of this organization. We did everything correctly. Used their crappy providers, spent hours on the phone getting prior authorizations, and still we will have bad credit due to their corrupt billing practices.
Try getting an appointment with your PCP, they never have openings, so you have to go to their urgent care, coincidentally owned by your PCP. Copay is twice as much. Nice.
Now I'm working with the California Insurance Commission, and will obtain an attorney if necessary.
Do not leave your medical needs in the hands of these buffoons! - Yelp Is Bullshit B.Anaheim, CA2319127Nov 5, 2015
I tried contacting their main phone number but I only got to listen to stupid music while waiting for over an hour and never got to speak to a live person. This is definitely NOT a good medical group to be in where customer service is nonexistent. I suggest you contact your health insurance and file a complaint against this medical group to get your issues resolved.

Wish i checked this website before i signed up with ADOC.
This is the terrible medical group. They prevented me from seeing doctor near me and referred me to another office but office was too busy then they referred me to yet another office 22 miles away.I decided to change medical group with 2 weeks left before new medical group would be in effect so that i would have doctor reasonably close, ADOC terminated my membership and very important appointment to treat serious injury. Now i have to wait 2 weeks before i can go to new doctor not to mention all the ti me it will take to make appointments. My insurance suggested to file grievance but it will not help my injury treatment
Of course they can not do much about ADOC
This IPA is the worst.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Evelyn O.Waterfront, CA7348Aug 7, 2015
Worst IPA EVER!!! I am not nor will I ever be a patient with this IPA, I work for a company that sees patients with this IPA and they are the worst in getting our authorizations back, and when you try to call to find out about the status of authorizations they never answer your call, you will be on hold for ever! They are the worst! Hate that I have to deal with them.

I am very happy with my physician, unfortunately he is a member of ADOC. ADOC seems to find every way possible to prevent you from receiving the health care you need. The latest was a denial for a CDC required vaccine. After filing a grievance it was approved, only to be denied payment later. The form letter that stated I could file an appeal, which I have. So far this process is taken seven months to try and resolve. My physician has done everything possible to expedite this. Once this is finalized I will be forced to change physicians.

I agree, this is the worse IPA. I have tried to get a breast pump be approved and they have not approved it. They say we will call you back but never does. I finally had to talk to the lead name Laura Ybarra who apologized for the company why the company was giving me the wrong supplier but said she will call me back so she can investigate but she never called back. My insurance said I can appeal- yeah, how long will that take. Will not need by the time they respond. I will also have to change IPA even though I like my PCP. I wish I can write this review on the ADOC website.
